This shoot took place on the street downstairs from my home. Originally, I just wanted to capture what the character looks like in everyday life, so I didn't deliberately create an overly extravagant studio backdrop. The light-blue bangs wig is the soul of the entire photo, with the length covering one eye adding a lot of mystery. To adapt to sunlight conditions, I chose very translucent green contacts paired with fair base makeup, pink blush, and lip tint, striving to recreate the character's original crystal-clear vibe. I used denser false eyelashes because front-facing phone cameras easily wash out eye contours, so heavier eye makeup was necessary to make the gaze expressive. For clothing, I selected an academy-style blue-and-white striped Sailor suit; the collar features white and blue stripes over a bright yellow base, accented with a red-and-white checkered bow tie on the chest, making it highly recognizable. Since it was an outdoor casual snap, throwing on a black sports jacket added a realistic everyday feel while introducing a cool, gender-neutral aesthetic. The yellow zipper accent echoed the inner yellow collar and tie, and this contrasting mix-and-match turned out great on camera. In terms of shooting angle, I intentionally chose a slightly tilted selfie perspective, gently tugging the jacket collar so my arm posture had natural tension and didn't look stiff. It was around 3 or 4 PM with gentle light that cast no harsh shadows on the face; natural lighting made the skin tone look very comfortable, and post-processing only slightly warmed the color temperature while preserving the street's original gray tones to enrich the visual depth. The scattered residential buildings, blue tricycle, and silver-gray sedan in the background built an authentic living space. The collision between everyday street surroundings and a 2D anime girl created a wonderful chemical reaction—vivid and authentic. As a cosplayer who frequently shoots outdoors, I know how vital finding the right light and angles is, so I always strive to capture the character's temperament through the lens. This shoot didn't involve excessive poses; instead, it relied on the gaze and a slight head tilt to convey a relaxed street vibe. Preparing the props and outfit was fun—especially styling the wig to make it silky smooth and ensure perfect bangs. I tested three pairs of colored contacts before finding the one best suited for the ambient light, balancing opacity and translucency. The yellow collar color scheme always feels refreshing, but wearing the jacket made the look less delicate and more casual. Posing with a slight body turn, hand resting naturally on the collar, breathing steadily to keep the gaze clear and sharp. The front camera has noticeable perspective distortion, so a slight angle visually slims and refines the face. A gentle breeze blew past right then, causing the Blue hair to flutter slightly; capturing that moment felt most natural, resulting in this photo. I particularly love integrating cosplay into everyday life—free from forced poses, it showcases a lively side of the character. Fabric textures, wig layers, and makeup details were fully revealed under natural light. Through this real-world setting, I hope to show that cosplay isn't just extravagant studio poses, but can also be grounded and full of everyday aesthetic charm. Recreating a character often requires spending lots of time testing makeup, adjusting wig placement, and matching outfits. Though time-consuming, seeing the final photos makes it completely worthwhile. The crease on the jacket collar was hand-pinched intentionally for a more natural look. I love the texture of the final photos and wanted to share them here. Cosplaying feels like exploring ways to integrate characters into reality, and this street snap near my home was a fun experience.
