This Rem cat-ear maid styling from the convention is the result of a full two months of preparation. From material selection to wig trimming, every step was aimed at restoring that busy yet gentle figure in Roswaal's mansion as much as possible. This black-and-white maid outfit looks simple, but it actually has many details. The lace ruffles on the chest and cuffs are layered upon layer; to maintain a crisp shape, I specially used styling spray to treat them, ensuring they wouldn't collapse even after walking around the convention all day. The wig was also trimmed by myself; to fit the head shape, it was thinned out in three layers, and the blue hair strands have a subtle gradient texture under the light.

The cat ears and hair accessories on top of my head are custom-made; the pink cross hairpin and white small flower are matched together, adding a bit of playfulness. What satisfies me the most is actually that fluffy blue cat tail. To allow it to curve naturally behind me while keeping it fluffy, the interior is shaped with a wire skeleton, and the exterior is wrapped with high-density faux rabbit fur. At the convention site, I specially brought this white circular plush rug, so whether crouching or lying down, it can simulate the true feeling of a cat in its nest, and also makes the lace edge of the skirt clearer under the contrast of the dark ground and white blanket.

The shooting took place in the afternoon; the foot traffic in the hall was very heavy, and the lighting was relatively complex. The Sony and Canon booth lightboxes can be seen in the background, and the cool-toned venue lighting really tests skin texture. I tried using different angles to show the characteristics of this outfit. The crouching posture can best highlight the layers of the skirt and the agility of the tail, while also making the design of the chest neckline more three-dimensional. To capture the arc of the cat ears and tail, the photographer specially lowered the camera position, using a large aperture to blur the complex booth structure in the background, focusing visual attention entirely on the character.

Striking poses on site is actually more tiring than imagined. To maintain the cat-paw gesture and that cute yet slightly sly demeanor, I needed to keep my core tight every time the shutter was pressed, avoiding leaning forward which leads to an unstable center of gravity. Although long sleeves and ruffles look good, breathability is average, and the air conditioning temperature in the hall was on the cooler side, but it was still quite comfortable. During breaks, many passing enthusiasts came over to take pictures, and everyone said this tail has a particularly strong presence, with a fluffy texture that makes people want to touch it.

Regarding the understanding of the character, I think the tenacity in her to give everything for the people she cares about forms a good contrast with her usually soft and cute, occasionally somewhat clumsy cat-girl attributes. Choosing this derivative cat-ear maid styling this time is also to add a relaxed convention atmosphere on top of the daily maid outfit. The waist-cinching design of the whole outfit is quite obvious; to show better lines in front of the lens, I readjusted the tightness of the binding behind before wearing it. In fact, every time I do cosplay, from makeup trial to final photos, it is a process of re-dialogue with the character. Although the convention lighting is complex, as long as I find the right angle and coordinate with the dynamics of the rug and tail, I can shoot pictures with a great sense of atmosphere. I shot quite a few satisfactory pictures this time, and I will slowly edit them out when I have time later.
