This birthday celebration and Oshi-katsu daily life project for Izumi Sagiri from Eromanga Sensei took over half a month from planning to realization. The scene design utilized a white high-key soft lighting scheme, paired with abundant white silk flowers, white gauze curtains, and a soft lighting array to create a fluffy, dreamy, and translucent atmosphere. Considering the character's everyday domestic feel in the series, I chose a loose white off-the-shoulder T-shirt for the outfit, combined with a silver-white to pink gradient wig for a silver hair cosplay look and iconic pink ribbon bows, achieving a relaxed at-home vibe.

For merch arrangements, tin badges, acrylic stands, plush dolls, and shikishi prints were filtered strictly by character and theme colors. Significant thought went into the layered depth and foreground/background framing on the desk to avoid a cluttered look. The custom fondant chibi cake was incredibly exquisite, featuring a purple-pink spiral candle that served as an excellent visual focal point in the foreground during photos. Next to the huge wedding dress acrylic stand, matching floral arrangements and white gauze created a compact, harmonious frame in the final photos.

The height running joke really makes it easy to immerse into character; wearing this outfit visually captures Sagiri's petite, childish feel. Since the character is a hikikomori light novel illustrator, I gave up high heels in favor of bare feet or casual footwear with a white tights cosplay aesthetic, maintaining a pure, authentic sense of naturalness while moving around the set during the shoot.

2900 days of companionship—these eight years have been an exceptionally precious journey for me. During my hardest times, it was this passion and character that became a beacon of light in my life. Every time I tidy merch, plan birthday events, or wear character outfits facing the camera, the pure joy of focused devotion feels intensely real. To align with this dreamy, soft theme, post-processing raised the overall exposure compensation while lowering shadow contrast based on character ambiance, allowing skin textures and white gauze highlights to blend seamlessly, creating an angelic halo-like soft texture.

When setting up these small items, every tin badge and acrylic stand had a carefully calculated placement angle. Although assembling the scene and shooting took considerable energy and time, seeing the finished photos brought a genuinely solid sense of achievement. This project was not merely an Izumi Sagiri cosplay photoshoot, but also a commemoration of my state of mind over these eight years. Many emotions in life require an outlet; shuttling between the 2D world and reality to materialize love for fictional characters through a merch array is a deeply ritualistic practice. For the next birthday celebration, I hope to try even more varied scene interactions and bring richer creative ideas to life.
