Shooting this Arknights Eyjafjalla Cosplay Dreamland look was a delightful experience. The primary direction for wardrobe, makeup, and props was highlighting the fluffy texture of the dress and the vintage tea party atmosphere for this Lolita photo shoot. The core highlight of the styling is the hat adorned with sheep horn decorations; to balance this prominent headpiece, I deliberately slowed my movements during the shoot to manage its proportions in the frame. The outfit is packed with intricate details, such as the cross-plus patterns on the pink ruffled cuffs, along with the black chest straps and zipper. To bring out the three-dimensional depth of this Lolita style, a lot of time was spent arranging the pleats and ruffles of the skirt.
For the set, we chose a patterned vintage sofa and a pure white tea set; under warm-toned lighting, it brought out the dress's natural drape and subtle sheen. The pure white gloves paired with black bows served as a finishing touch, adding a touch of elegance. The white platform boots and long socks elongated my leg proportions in full-body compositions. Posing was coached extensively—such as crossing legs on the sofa or leaning over the tea table, ensuring my gaze met the lens directly while keeping the voluminous fullness of the dress from collapsing. Because of the wig, wearing the hat over curly hair could easily make the head look disproportionately large, requiring extra background breathing room in the composition to balance visual weight.
From this shooting experience, the biggest priority was maintaining the stability of the skirt and mask-like accessories during movement. The shoot involved frequent shifts between seated and leaning postures, especially around the narrow tea table, requiring natural, relaxed poses while protecting waist accessories from bumping. The bangs on the wig also partially obstructed my view, so I relied heavily on the photographer's guidance. Fortunately, all the pre-production preparations shone through, and the finished photos beautifully captured the character's pure, adorable innocence without losing her captivating aura. Most of the costume fabric is structured and stiff, offering great support that allows the skirt to fan out naturally, but it also carries considerable weight, requiring sustained physical stamina to wear for long periods. Paired with careful gaze and expression management, the resulting blend of effortless ease and refinement was truly ideal.
