[Eyjafjalla Cosplay] Arknights: Sharing Today's Cosplay Location Photoshoot

When shooting this Eyjafjalla Cosplay from Arknights, the weather wasn't particularly great with rather overcast lighting. Choosing an outdoor location among scattered rubble and old brick walls was intended to match the character's setting of working in the field during this Cosplay location photoshoot. The crimped curls of the wig and the sheep horns atop my head were key highlights; styling this look took nearly three hours because the heavy horns had to be secured at a precise position, making overall balance essential. The outfit features a purple raw-edged dress with specially tailored hemlines, though the black plush accessories on the half-skirt caught some dust while rubbing against the rocks. The white collar and red-trimmed coat added visual layers, requiring careful wearing to prevent the inner sleeves from showing and disrupting the look. I deliberately wore black Pantyhose paired with brown leather boots; to protect the stockings from snagging on rough stones, every movement had to stay crisp and clean, which naturally fostered relaxed sitting poses. Posing with the staff required practice as the prop was quite heavy. In particular, for the shot sitting on the rock pointing toward the lens, sustaining core and abdominal engagement was necessary to keep my upper body upright. The purple contact lenses had high color saturation, requiring special attention to their rendering under different lighting. Moving around on the rocks easily pinched the stockings, so I had to adjust them between poses. The location was surrounded by weeds and small bugs, necessitating cleanup of the foreground for a clean shot. While the outfit isn't revealing, the sitting poses and outdoor scenery aimed to capture the character's curious and gently adorable demeanor. To adjust folds on the skirt hem and hood, I stood up and sat down countless times. Having my legs and ankles wedged between rocks for support left them aching afterwards, but seeing the resulting photos, the color accuracy and costume details turned out great—making it an exhausting yet rewarding shoot.

For this set, I woke up around 5 AM to start hair and makeup. Because the textured wig frizzed easily, using a hairnet before styling was fundamental. The headpieces were quite bulky, demanding extreme caution when navigating narrow rock crevices. The large black staff reflected brightly under sunlight, harmonizing nicely with the dark-toned brick walls. I explored various poses, such as sitting on the rocks gripping the staff with both hands or bending slightly to look at the lens. The black Pantyhose on the lower half were actually quite breathable, but in this gravelly environment, snag prevention was top priority. The thick soles of the leather boots provided stable footing on rocks, though they limited complex maneuvers. For a cosplayer, conveying character essence starts with demeanor and motion. Eyjafjalla embodies both academic dedication and innocence, so soft eye expressions were preferred, perfectly matched by the pinkish-purple contact lenses. Looking upward slightly made the eyes appear more vibrant. For fabric choices, the purple dress used material with an elegant drape that spread out nicely when seated. The white plush trim and red ribbons on the black coat created striking contrast against the cool-toned backdrop. Adjusting the space between the Black stockings and boots elongated leg lines for a taller full-body silhouette. The weather was chilly; despite wearing Black stockings, the breeze brought a nip of cold, so I bundled up in a thick coat during breaks. Post-processing avoided heavy color grading, focusing on removing background clutter and brightening facial lighting. Among the four final sets, the first is a standing half-body, the second a seated full-body on the rocks, the third a reaching close-up, and the fourth a collage. I actually tripped on a stone once and scraped my knee, but luckily the Black stockings didn't tear. This set was quite satisfying in costume accuracy and expressive capture.
