This shoot features the High-Speed Rainbow Shadow styling of Arona in League of Legends: Wild Rift. The head wig uses a high-saturation bright orange color. To achieve the fluffy yet slightly messy esports feel of the original design, a large amount of hair wax was used during styling, teasing clear layers section by section, and appropriately backcombing the hair roots to increase overall support. That exaggeratedly styled blue pointy hat is the hardest part of the entire equipment to handle; the main structure uses EVA as a base for 3D splicing, covered with a metallic reflective texture paint on the surface, and the gloss refracted under the convention spotlights is very eye-catching. The two orange plush decorations extending backward from the top of the hat required internal wire skeletons to maintain that upright yet slightly curved dynamic feel. The cyan glasses worn on the face have a relatively unique frame shape, and the upward-swept corners required manual polishing to fit the face shape, paired with bright blue contact lenses, keeping the base makeup fair and clean, and dotted with fine freckles on both sides of the cheeks to restore the design setting.
In terms of clothing matching, the inner layer is a white high-neck sleeveless zipper bodysuit. The black-and-white checkered pattern and black geometric lines on the chest were completed through heat transfer combined with handmade patches, and the long zipper in the middle has great smoothness for easy putting on and taking off. Outer-wearing a blue-and-purple color-blocked jacket, the shoulders are designed with very exaggerated 3D shoulder guards; to keep the shape stiff, two extra layers of shaping fabric were added to the inner lining. The silver corrugated bent pipes and red cylindrical nozzles extending from the shoulder guards were plated and color-separated respectively, and wearing this entire set of equipment immediately brings out that sci-fi esports atmosphere. The gradient energy blade prop held in hand was made by casting transparent resin with built-in LED light strips; it has quite some weight in hand, requiring wrist strength to support when posing.
Today happens to be the convention site of the League of Legends: Wild Rift May Day Allies Festival. The blue LED light strips surrounding the stage and the cyber-style geometric frames match the overall color tone of this outfit particularly well. Performing various actions on stage wearing this equipment is actually quite physically demanding, especially that huge hat and the armor on the shoulders, which can easily block vision or limit the range of arm elevation if not careful. During the shooting break, I held my phone with one hand and quickly browsed through the raw photos from the previous sets. Although the ambient lighting at the site was complex and ever-changing, the photographer knew very well how to use the venue's blue light for edge outlining, and the dynamic moments captured had unexpectedly great three-dimensionality.
From the layered trimming of the wig to the prop polishing of the armor, the entire preparation process went through multiple color tests and modifications, and every step tested patience. To match the atmosphere of the event site, I specially adjusted the action design of holding the weapon and holding the brim of the hat, making this gradient energy blade look more prominent in the photos. Although walking back and forth around the venue wearing this entire outfit consumed a considerable amount of energy, being able to sort out such a relatively satisfying set of final photos in the end can be considered an account for the efforts put in during this period. This High-Speed Rainbow Shadow styling features intense color collisions and full dynamic appeal, and I hope the photos can convey the character's intertwined feeling of speed and neon.
