[Lux cosplay] League of Legends: Wild Rift China International Comics Festival (CICF) Sweet Pink Convention photos

Sharing my first set of Convention photos from the China International Comics Festival (CICF)! This time I portrayed Lux cosplay from League of Legends: Wild Rift, picking this sweet pink skin. Since I couldn't buy the skin in-game, I decided to cosplay it directly instead. The whole preparation took over a month, from sourcing fabric for the dress to crafting and polishing the staff. The staff was made from foam and acrylic, and the hollow heart area was quite fragile, so I handled it very carefully on the way to the convention. For the wig, I selected a soft, pale blonde tone, styled a bow headband, and tucked the side tendrils behind my ears to give this Anime girl look a livelier feel.

Arriving on-site, I realized the venue was packed with huge crowds and the ambient lighting was quite chaotic. The photographer guided me through various angles, teaching me how to use the roadside trees and surroundings to blur out the background and make the subject pop. Because the dress was rather short with an off-the-shoulder cut, slightly crouching or bending meant paying close attention to garment alignment, so we mainly shot half-body or poised standing postures to prevent any wardrobe slips.

To flatter the lines of my legs, I wore white leg warmers paired with pink thigh garters. Shifting my weight slightly to one side or leaning the upper body forward made legs look noticeably longer on camera. In particular, several glance-back poses not only contoured the face nicely but also revealed the butterfly wing accents on the back. The costume includes small wing accessories at the back with straps that easily slipped off, requiring several readjustments mid-shoot. The staff prop was quite heavy; holding it for extended periods made my arms remarkably sore, but to achieve stunning visuals, I held it aloft through numerous takes. All while maintaining strict facial expression control—for a cute skin aesthetic like this, smile curvature must be dialed in carefully, neither overly stiff nor excessively exaggerated.

We took a lot of shots that day, though many were scrapped due to photobombing passersby or expression slips. During post-processing, we selected clean backdrops and applied subtle pink-purple tone adjustments to the lighting, lending an ethereal, dreamy vibe fitting for the skin's sweet aura. The photographer's framing was meticulous: half-body close-ups clearly highlighted the large pink heart on the chest, while full-body shots preserved flattering leg and sock proportions. When holding the staff prop, angling it slightly upward kept it from blocking my face while framing the entire heart silhouette cleanly.

Looking back at these Convention photos, it was a truly satisfying convention experience. When I first started cosplaying this type of Anime girl character, I always worried about facial incongruity, but practicing expressions in front of a mirror helped me find the groove. Given the tight timeline and limited prop-making experience, some minor details were a bit unpolished—such as slightly uneven holographic tape along the hem and rougher sanding around the staff edges. Nonetheless, the atmosphere at the convention was fantastic; I met many fans calling out the character name and received wonderful compliments. Next time, I'll make the staff lighter for more nimble poses without keeping my arms strained. I'll also switch to a longer-lasting setting powder, as convention weather can easily wear down makeup.
