Today is the part 1 share of the League of Legends: Wild Rift Lux Qixi Festival themed outdoor photoshoot. Together with photographer NightDiva, we completed this Glimpses of Light shoot at Foshan Ichiban Street. The laser reflective fabric of this costume reveals incredible depth under the neon nightscape, with the illuminated heart device on the chest serving as the visual highlight of the entire look. For the best visual proportions, I paired pink-and-white knit leg warmers with white platform shoes, which alongside the mini skirt visually elongated the leg lines nicely. The wig's golden-yellow gradient into soft pink looked tender in the cool night lights, and together with the headband details, produced a sweet-and-cool vibe that breaks the fourth wall. During the shoot, we used the pedestrian crosswalk as our main setting and cast heart-shaped light patterns onto the ground to echo the romantic Qixi mood. To express Lux's confident and playful demeanor as she lights the way ahead, I put a lot of thought into the poses. For instance, in the shots sitting on the black folding ladder, I crossed my legs to stretch out the body line while showcasing the skirt details and leg warmers. Using the ladder as a prop added a casual, slice-of-life charm, grounding the typical floatiness of a magical girl aesthetic. Raising one hand high while pointing to my cheek with the other instantly dialed up the romantic, date-like ambiance. Night portraits are notoriously challenging due to complex light sources. We utilized a wide aperture for ample light intake while keeping the ISO around 500 to minimize noise. A 24mm wide-angle lens worked wonderfully for full-body environmental frames, capturing Ichiban Street's lanterns, billboards, and neon lights to amplify the urban night tension, while a 50mm lens captured half-body close-ups emphasizing facial expressions and costume nuances. Fill lights were placed both in front and to the side to ensure the face was well-lit and contoured. This part 1 primarily showcases the airy brilliance of the pink performance outfit. From afternoon preparations to wrapping up late at night, posing on the street required shaking off the self-consciousness of onlookers, but seeing the final images gleam off the reflective materials made every adjustment completely worth it. Part 2 is coming up next, aiming to capture the full glow of this romantic Qixi celebration.
