Presenting the official photo series of my Cheshire Cosplay from Azur Lane, captured by the glass curtain wall staircase at the CPG08 convention venue. Sincere thanks to photographer @吃冰的冰焰 for capturing these vivid moments amidst the bustling event through expert Convention photography.
The costume features a classic blue-and-white Lolita design distinguished by a wide, dramatic skirt hem. The most intricate aspect of the outfit is the dense ring of dimensional blue hydrangea blossoms bordering the hemline; due to the sheer volume of floral ornamentation and the inherent weight of the multi-layered skirt, moving around required constant caution to prevent the delicate petals from being crushed or losing their structured shape. The wig features a silvery-grey base with bright blue highlight wefts strategically integrated along the front fringe to echo the blue floral motifs of the dress. The curved ends were meticulously shaped with a curling iron, and the bangs were set with styling wax prior to the event to maintain pristine hold throughout the day. The headdress features multi-tiered ruffles along the bonnet brim flanked by miniature golden spherical bells that chime with a lively, playful energy. The ensemble's delicate texture is further elevated by a white rose choker, a lustrous pearl chain, and a golden pendant at the neckline. Translucent organza puff sleeves frame the arms, while blue satin ribbons and matching floral appliqués cinch the waistline. For the footwear and leg line, smooth White stockings paired with clean white high heels were chosen to visually elongate the calves and refine the overall Cute girl cosplay silhouette.
For the makeup palette, the eye styling utilized a soft pink-and-purple gradient blend paired with winged eyeliner and vibrant pink-purple cosmetic lenses, striking a balance between refined allure and wide-eyed feline innocence. A subtle blush was applied to keep the complexion fresh and airy, finished with a sheer, soft-pink lip tone. In the crowded and visually chaotic environment of a major anime expo, selecting the staircase alongside the glass curtain wall offered distinct technical advantages: the glass surface provided steady, soft ambient light reflection, while the area saw lighter pedestrian traffic, facilitating smoother posing.
The photographer guided me through several deliberate poses:
1. A low crouching stance with dual V-sign gestures framing my cheeks—a quintessential Cute girl cosplay posture that, combined with a slight head tilt, sharply concentrated eye contact directly into the lens.
2. A waist-up portrait holding a white lace parasol from a high-angle perspective, which visually slimmed the jawline and softened my gaze; the umbrella stem was deliberately held to the side to prevent the dark shaft from obstructing the visual composition.
3. A full standing pose delicately lifting the tiered edges of the voluminous skirt to fully display the rich hydrangea borders and structural silhouette, naturally accentuating the sleek, elongated lines of the White stockings.
Navigating an expansive convention hall in such a voluminous gown and high heels naturally took a toll on stamina, requiring brief resting intervals between shooting sets. After spending significant time on hair and makeup in the morning, maintaining an upright posture, relaxed shoulders, and a subtly tucked chin during the afternoon shoot was essential for natural, expressive frames. Capturing this costume at CPG08 required constant vigilance over the garment's drapery—if the skirt was not lifted with the proper tension, the blue blossoms would bunch together and disrupt the clean silhouette. My personal favorite from the series remains the skirt-lifting shot, where the balanced composition, the contrast between the vivid blue petals and pristine White stockings, and the delicate natural lighting harmonized seamlessly. The striking blue-and-white palette drew wonderful attention from fellow attendees, and despite the physical exhaustion, the final visual outcome makes every moment of effort deeply rewarding.
