Shooting Elysia's Poem of Flowing Light styling from Honkai Impact 3rd this time focused entirely on fabric textures and nuanced details. The pink wig was given a gradient treatment; if the roots lacked sufficient volume, putting on the forehead accessory would make the hair cling flatly to the scalp, so a lot of effort went into structural head shaping during costume fitting.
The skirt hem consists of multi-layered organza—alternating purple and pink on the outer layers with a white lining underneath. Because the organza is exceptionally soft, accidental creasing easily creates stubborn folds, requiring constant smoothing and reshaping of the ruffled layers during poses. The golden triangle knot at the waist was tricky; it had to be pinned securely to the exact center of the waistband with fine needles to prevent slipping askew. The purple rose on the chest was hand-sewn, with its lustrous sheen creating a lovely contrast against the matte skirt body.
For the setting, we selected a vintage European indoor backdrop featuring white roses and Roman pillars, which, paired with warm candlelight, accentuated the translucency of the semi-sheer tulle gown.
The seated shot in Photo 3 (the cover) was deliberately designed. The White stockings have a subtle sheen that, combined with the purple straps across the legs and a carefully adjusted crossing angle of the legs, makes leg lines look smoother while subtly revealing the skirt's rich layering. The White stockings chosen were compression tights, which prevented unsightly bunching around the knees when seated.
The shot holding a golden fork utilized a high-angle overhead perspective, primarily intended to highlight the veil and chest flower details while adding playful interaction with a tabletop cake prop. Handling small props while wearing gloves was slippery, so finding the right grip angle for the fork took multiple attempts. For makeup, gradient violet contact lenses echoed the outfit, while glitter around the eyes added dewy hydration to keep the look clean and clear.
Post-processing preserved the hazy dreaminess of the tulle while deepening the background to emphasize warm tones—practical adjustments made to align closely with the character's temperament. Throughout the shoot, because the skirt was so massive, turning around required an assistant to smooth the back tulle layers each time; though slightly tedious, it gave me time to appreciate the intricate construction of this outfit.
