[Xiao Qiao Cosplay] Honor of Kings & Line Dog: A Healing Crossover

Bringing together Honor of Kings' Xiao Qiao and the Line Dog theme took a lot of thought from preparation to the final shoot, mainly to capture that fluffy, healing at-home vibe. When the custom-made costume arrived, the quality exceeded my expectations. The loose white sweater is super comfortable, featuring an adorable cartoon puppy print on the chest, layered with a yellow knit scarf. The oversized cat paw accessory around the neck serves as an eye-catching visual focal point. The blue pleated skirt on the bottom has gold piping and yellow geometric patterns, accented with hanging star, pearl, and tassel charms that sway playfully with movement. For the wig, I picked a mint green short cut with a delicate braid on the left side, topped with fluffy bear ears and star hairpins to maximize the character's dainty and lively charm.

The shoot was split between an indoor bedroom scene and a studio set. The bedroom scene was shot in a room with a wooden bed frame and lace curtains, where the filtering sunlight gave off an incredibly soft glow. To enrich the composition, I prepared several plush toys—especially a yellow cushion printed with MALTESE, along with a white floppy-eared pup and a big brown bear nearby, nicely playing into the comforting theme of 'the world may be broken, but puppies patch it up.' In terms of pose references, I tried to keep my postures natural and relaxed. When lying on the bed, I hugged the cushion tightly and kicked up my feet, which not only showed off the leg lines but also highlighted the White stockings I styled. These stockings are a lovely detail, featuring light blue star motifs, dark straps at the top and ankles, and pink crisscross ribbons. When sitting up, I reached one hand out or flashed a peace sign to create an interactive feeling with the audience, keeping the shots dynamic.

Since the outfit features relatively vibrant colors, I also took a set in the studio against a solid light blue backdrop. A solid background really tests body language, so I posed hugging the MALTESE cushion or resting my clasped hands in front to center visual attention on the character. The trickiest part was managing the bedsheets' wrinkles and the short skirt hemline; every time I shifted sitting or prone positions, I had to tidy up the skirt and stockings to keep the composition neat. To highlight the lazy, cozy mood at home, I emphasized blush and wore bright blue contact lenses to make the eyes look clear and luminous. All in all, blending Line Dog elements with Xiao Qiao was such a delightful project, and I hope this photo set sharing offers some useful posing inspiration for your own cosplays!
