[Chang'e cosplay] Honor of Kings: Thoughts on Resisting Frost, Mid-Autumn Blessings of Fullness

My Mid-Autumn Festival look has finally made its debut! I had been brainstorming how to capture the true essence of Chang'e for a very long time. To faithfully channel the aura of the 'Thoughts on Resisting Frost' skin from Honor of Kings, I dedicated extensive care to the hair and makeup. The eye makeup was shaded with deep crimson hues, paired with soft pink-tinted lashes and elongated liner, striving to project an aloof yet compassionate grace before the camera. I chose high-luminance sky-blue contact lenses to create a sharp, striking contrast against the pastel pink hair, producing a radiant, glassy translucency under studio fill lights. To complement this luminous eye styling, the base makeup was kept whisper-thin, with blush swept generously beneath the eyes and across the upper cheeks to evoke an ethereal, tear-kissed yet dignified aura.

Styling the wig was a major undertaking. The pastel pink synthetic fibers frizz very easily, requiring multiple rounds of precision trimming, steaming, and texturizing beforehand. The braided buns perched on both sides of the crown needed buoyant volume without appearing bulky. The golden filigree foliage hairpins and blush-pink peony blossoms underwent several placement adjustments to naturally frame the facial contours without obscuring my features. Layering the floral petals piece by piece was crucial for an organic, dimensional look, while the bangs were carefully thinned to retain an airy, weightless finish.

I adore the craftsmanship of the attire. The white foundation fabric features subtle jacquard weaves, highlighted by a vivid crimson mandarin collar that enlivens the complexion. The horizontal gold metal bar ornament and pearl button accents across the chest carry substantial tactile quality, gleaming softly under studio strobes. Cascading golden branch filigree and tassels draped beneath the shoulders, framed by a plush white fur stole, enriched the visual depth while evoking the cozy warmth of autumn. Although the ensemble carried noticeable physical heft, it was entirely worth it for the final aesthetic.

For the set, I chose a minimalist dark-gray solid backdrop, allowing the pastel pink hair and pristine white garment to pop vividly. The key light was diffused into a soft, velvety glow, focusing on facial high points and shimmer accents around the eyes to weave a dreamlike, celestial visual realm. To embody Chang'e's divine grace, I maintained an upright yet fluid posture—chin softly tucked, gaze cast slightly downward, gracing the lens with a faint, tender smile.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is fundamentally an ode to reunion, harmony, and joy. Although this series depicts Chang'e in her secluded lunar palace, in the spirit of 'Chang'e bestowing blessings,' I truly hope these photos convey warm festive wishes to everyone. Despite the meticulous adjustments required throughout the journey, seeing the finished frames made every ounce of effort completely worthwhile. From concept testing to final shutter clicks, every detail was refined to recreate the character's soulful presence.
