[Sun Shangxiang cosplay] CHAGEE collaboration check-in, this preppy style outfit is super photogenic

This Sun Shangxiang costume has actually been in preparation for quite some time. Taking advantage of the collaboration event between CHAGEE and Honor of Kings, I brought along the newly acquired merchandise for an outdoor photoshoot. The overall clothing design is very distinctive. The upper body is a light gray blazer with dark blue fabric spliced at the cuffs, paired with metal buttons, giving it a high-textured look. Inside, it's paired with a white shirt and a dark blue tie, and I specially added a small silver metal accessory at the tie knot to increase the textural layering in details.

Styling the wig took a lot of time. To restore the character's playful yet slightly rebellious temperament, I chose a black twin-tails wig with bright green highlights at the ends. Green striped bows are clipped to both sides of the top of the head, and this hair accessory is the finishing touch of the entire styling. In terms of makeup, to match the green hair ends and pupils, the eyeshadow used a pinkish tone, with the eyeliner slightly elongated, and paired with green contact lenses. This makes the eyes look very bright in front of the lens, and the overall makeup feels energetic yet carries a hint of sharpness.

The lower garment is a blue-and-gray plaid pleated skirt with a double-layered overlapping design on the hem, where the bottom layer is a light-colored plaid, creating a strong sense of layering when walking. It is paired with a black leather thigh garter featuring metal buckles and chains, and black platform lace-up Martens boots on the feet. This outfit visually elongates the leg lines while adding a bit of punk-style coolness. During the shoot, I tried many leg-raising and side-profile actions, such as single-leg standing and looking back over the shoulder, which better showcase the skirt's pleats and the leg garter details, making the whole look more tense and dynamic.

The props for this shoot were very rich. CHAGEE's collaborative tote bags, paper cups, and various character cards and acrylic badges featured a cyan-blue main color scheme that matched the green-and-blue color palette of my outfit perfectly. While shooting, I held cups printed with character patterns or placed them on the round tables in the mall's atrium as foregrounds, making the image colors very unified. Since it was shot in a commercial area, there were many glass guardrails, wooden steps, and greenery around. Combined with the mall's lighting, as long as one slightly catches the angle, it's easy to capture photos with clear light and shadow and a prominent subject.

In terms of action design, I used the level difference of the stairs for some sitting shots, where crossed legs showcase the texture of the garter very well. Because the clothes have a slim-fit design, one needs to keep the back straight when raising hands or turning around so that the captured lines look sharper. The surrounding lighting was quite mixed, so I made some adjustments to the camera's white balance to avoid yellowish skin tones. The overall feeling after shooting is that this styling retains the character's recognizability while incorporating some everyday preppy elements, making it completely natural to wear out in daily life.
