Completed the makeup, styling, and studio shoot for this Evernight cosplay; from receiving the concept art to finally standing before the lens, the whole process required immense patience to hone every detail. Long pink hair and vivid red eyes are the visual core hallmarks of the character. When choosing the wig, special attention was paid to fluffiness, which, paired with the black bow hair clip atop the head, restored the character's traits wonderfully. High-pigment red contact lenses were chosen for the red eyes, pink hair look; once worn, the sharpness in my gaze immediately surged. Overall facial makeup avoided heavy application, instead emphasizing eyelash and eyeliner contours paired with skin-toned base makeup to make facial dimensions look more pronounced.

As for the outfit, the tri-color black, white, and red color-blocked design provided strong visual layering. The stitching and silver piping on the black-and-white fitted jacket delivered great texture, and while the cross-star metal brooch at the collar was an accessory, it anchored the center of gravity for the collar shape effectively. The inner white stand-up collar looked clean and sharp, while black leather gloves on my hands were not only a styling bonus, but provided excellent visual coordination when holding props. The fluffy white gauze sleeves contrasted sharply with the red-and-black arm sleeves, giving the upper body a very rich visual fullness.

The lower body skirt featured multi-layered pleating, with distinct layers between the outer short black skirt and inner white ruffles. The black leather thigh straps served as a standout design in this look; metal buckle embellishments on the straps broke the monotony of plain black, adding a touch of crisp, cool style to the overall aesthetic. During the shoot, this detail, combined with the skirt length, effectively showcased the character's body proportions.

In terms of prop preparation, that dark blue aged book with gold edges was a substantial, heavy prop in the overall styling. The gold foil stamping on the book cover presented a lovely luster under warm light. Additionally, an oval retro mirror with a silver frame was used in setting up the scene; during Cosplay photography, the mirror served not only as a practical tool for checking makeup, but when the photographer captured a glance back through the mirror reflection, it also added a sense of spatial depth blending reality and illusion.

The shooting environment this time was arranged with great atmosphere. The deep red velvet curtain served as the main background, beautifully accentuating the pink hair and fair skin while keeping the frame colors clean and orderly. A prominent golden metal birdcage structure was draped with strings of rounded warm yellow lightbulbs. The warm light emitted by tungsten bulbs served as key lighting on my face, conveying warmth while pairing with the red curtains to create a theatrical, mysterious backstage atmosphere.

Sitting inside this golden structure for photos allowed the vertical lines of the iron railing to guide visual focus. Whether sitting inside holding the book or looking up into the camera lens, the interplay of warm light and shadows made garment texture details appear richer. The black leather gloves, metallic brooch, and gold foil cover of the dark blue book all produced tasteful reflections from different lighting angles, giving final photos a sophisticated, high-end feel.

When executing this Evernight cosplay look, I also pondered how to bring that sense of stepping from 2D into 3D naturally. High-brightness glowing lightbulbs easily overexpose the face or create harsh glares, so the photographer deliberately adjusted lighting angles to use ambient diffusion for illuminating the face while preserving authentic costume colors—making this a valuable accumulation of 2D Cosplay experience.

Furthermore, when wearing complex outfits featuring corsetry, strappy bindings, and ruffles, body fluidity is essential. When sitting inside the birdcage structure, placing the book on knees or raising it overhead in one hand required finding the center of gravity beforehand so poses appeared dynamic without feeling stiff. Looking back at the entire shoot, this outfit from wig to boots is exceptionally well-suited for high-quality shoots, and I highly recommend it as a reference for friends who enjoy this style from Honkai: Star Rail.
