On Day 1 of the May Day Firefly ACG Expo, I completed an Outdoor anime convention photoshoot for the character March 7th. The entire costume adopted the most recognizable blue-and-white color palette from Honkai: Star Rail, paired with a short pink wig. The cuffs of the top feature a looser lantern-sleeve design, offering good fabric breathability that is well-suited for early summer outdoor shooting. The cropped cut revealing the waistline, combined with the blue bow and small golden ornaments at the collar, forms the visual centerpiece of the upper half. The blue-and-black spliced miniskirt on the lower half is trimmed with white piping, while the orange ribbons cascading from the side create a wonderful dynamic effect when caught by the wind.

The shooting location was in the green belt outside the exhibition hall; shooting under natural light allowed us to better faithfully recreate the character's lively and bright in-game image. The lush green foliage around us formed a natural framing border, which not only blocked harsh direct sunlight but also made the skin tone appear fairer and more even. Photographer Little Red Riding Hood handled the lens masterfully, paying special attention to dynamic body extension during snapshots—such as reaching one hand toward the lens, flashing a peace sign with one hand, and maintaining balance while lifting one leg—making the overall photos look like vibrant, interactive character moments for Cosplay photography. The weather on the day was wonderfully cooperative; the soft overcast lighting prevented the gradient hues of the costume from being washed out by harsh glare, presenting rich dimensional depth instead. Although pink wigs are common, it showed no awkward reflections in sunlight and retained a smooth, supple texture.

It is worth mentioning that the blue camera prop hanging at the waist, although made of plastic, was painted with a matte coating that gave it great texture and perceived heft. Holding it to frame a shot during the photoshoot or wearing it at the waist as an accessory fit March 7th's photo-loving persona in Honkai: Star Rail perfectly. The matching white ankle socks and buckled white platform shoes also harmonized with the overall sporty vibe of the outfit for this March 7th cosplay.

There were quite a lot of attendees at the convention; we avoided peak crowds by choosing a lawn around 2:00 PM when the lighting and color temperature were just right. During shoot breaks, we met several passersby who recognized the character, asking which title the cosplay was from, showing how recognizable Honkai: Star Rail and its characters are among the audience. Spending long hours outdoors can lead to sweating, so setting powder was carefully applied to keep the makeup fresh, ensuring the wig stayed fluffy and the bangs didn't stick to my forehead. With huge foot traffic at the convention, finding a suitable green corner in an Outdoor anime convention was no small feat, largely thanks to the photographer's clever use of space. Instead of shooting under the venue's complex interior lights, we headed straight for this outdoor clearing. This choice gave the photos a sense of grounded realism and airy breathing room, fitting the first impression March 7th gives everyone.

The photos shared this time mainly aim to convey the character's innate energetic spirit, keeping the subject at the visual focus of the frame through body language and lens interaction. Overall, the makeup, styling, and photographic results of this March 7th cosplay exceeded expectations, and more photos in different styles and convention photo sets will be unlocked down the road.
