For this Studio shoot, we chose the formal dress version of Misaki from Blue Archive. To infuse this styling with rich atmospheric depth, I prepared a deep blue wig ahead of time, meticulously sculpting twin buns paired with a side ponytail, styled with blunt bangs across the forehead and a blue floral hair accessory pinned to the left. To stay faithful to the character, the makeup accentuated rosy blush with soft eye contours, striving to evoke a porcelain, doll-like delicacy.

The wardrobe centers on an all-black off-the-shoulder dress. The neckline features a halter design, with shoulders and arms framed by sheer black tulle puff sleeves. The skirt cascades in multi-tiered pleats, crafted from fabric embedded with subtle shimmer particles that cast faint, starry highlights beneath studio strobes. A blue floral embellishment adorns the side waist, chiming harmoniously with the headpiece. For the lower half, sheer Black stockings were styled with glossy platform high heels; while having considerable height, they remained relatively stable to walk in, requiring mindful balance primarily when dropping into crouching poses.

To complement this gothic vintage aesthetic, the studio set was furnished with ample wooden antique pieces: an aged wooden sideboard to the left holding hardcover books and patterned teacups alongside a wooden violin, and a drawer chest to the right topped with a brass-horn vintage gramophone. The floor was laid with a Persian-style rug woven in crimson, blue, and cream. Lighting was dialed toward a cool key, cultivating an aura of refined, vintage elegance.

The first frame adopted a crouching glance-back angle. This posture put core stabilization to the test: maintaining a straight spine while crouching with crossed legs was essential to showcase the drape of the tulle skirt and the elongated lines of the legs. Clasping both hands before the chest while looking back into the lens beautifully highlighted the neck and shoulder contours. The second shot featured sitting sideways upon a square stool, arms draped naturally across the seat, legs extending diagonally to the left with a more relaxed gaze.

Throughout the shoot, I kept contemplating how Misaki would carry herself when wearing this gown in front of Sensei. She would likely wear an air of calm composure tinged with subtle, knowing wit. Therefore, while posing, I softened facial stiffness to invite an organic, effortless demeanor. The sheer Black stockings caught the flashes with ideal texture—neither overbearingly reflective nor dull, achieving the exact skin-sheerness intended.

Every studio shoot demands a delicate equilibrium among wardrobe, props, and bodily poise. From wig styling and makeup harmony to garment fittings and prop placement, every detail requires pre-production precision. Concluding this session smoothly with such satisfying results was immensely fulfilling, and I hope this photo set conveys the singular charm of this formal dress to everyone.
