【Maki cosplay】Konuri Maki's Outdoor Camping Record - Image 1

Partnering with my friend Muxi this time, we completed this Konuri Maki camping version photoshoot together. Choosing a forest path with wooden fences and lush green vegetation to shoot a camping-style character made the overall atmosphere feel spot-on immediately.

Deciding to shoot this look actually took a lot of consideration. Maki's original persona—bursting with lively, slightly clumsy energy—fits remarkably well with an Outdoor cosplay camping scene. Thus, the makeup style chosen leaned clear and natural without heavy stage makeup, focusing instead on curled eyelashes and soft eyeshadow blending. Paired with this bright red wig, the twin-tail braids were kept soft and relaxed, combining with the bangs to create a natural wind-blown feel rather than a stiff, tightly bound look. To match the bright clarity of the character's eyes, blue contact lenses were worn, giving a vibrant, expressive gaze under natural outdoor light.

Regarding costume details, this beige short coat offers high fidelity for a lightweight outdoor style. The red contrast trim on the cuffs serves as a highlight, while practical collar and pocket features—paired with the yellow backpack on my back—felt substantial to wear, effectively capturing the realistic, heavy-duty texture of outdoor gear. Even though it's cosplay, if textures aren't handled carefully, photos can carry a "cheap plastic feel," so I intentionally added weathering to the outfit edges and lining to make it genuinely look like gear worn hiking outdoors. The lower body was styled with black fitted leggings paired with black-and-white color-blocked short boots featuring white fur trim at the collar. In terms of color coordination for this Cosplay outfit, red, yellow, khaki, black, and white complement each other, popping vibrantly against the green background.

The weather on shoot day was actually quite muggy with intense outdoor sunlight, putting high demands on the photographer's light control. Special thanks to @A Piece of Pizza for pressing the shutter—she excels at capturing dynamic moments. For example, the playful single-leg standing pose in the photo isn't easy to balance, especially with a heavy backpack where slight tremors throw off one's center of gravity. To capture this shot with a perfect angle and natural expression, we tried multiple times. The photographer needed to snap the shutter right at the instant before I stumbled, paired with my slight chin raise toward the lens, resulting in a relaxed, breezy frozen frame.

This time, I also tried immersing myself into Maki's character. She isn't a flawless, rigid character on the surface, but rather possesses a touch of childishness and intimacy. So when facing the camera, I deliberately relaxed my shoulders, shifting my weight onto one leg to let my body display a playful, slightly rebellious curve. Working alongside Muxi, she provided many pose suggestions. During Outdoor cosplay shoots, having a partner means looking out for each other—checking if wigs got messy or hats went crooked—which greatly boosted our efficiency.

Overall, this photo set fits the bright, breathable scene I originally envisioned very well. Although Outdoor cosplay can be exhausting—hauling equipment over long distances—being able to create lively photos in a natural setting makes all the hard work worthwhile. This Konuri Maki camping shoot was a great experience, accumulating valuable lessons for future outdoor convention photos sessions.
