For this Arknights collaboration character Sakiko Toyokawa cosplay outfit, the most intricate parts were the black bow structure across the chest and the layered lace skirt hem. Putting it on took a lot of effort to arrange the petticoat, aiming for the final silhouette to capture the imposing, classic aura from the character design.
For the wig, I chose long ice-blue hair. The black horns on the head had to be firmly secured at the roots with U-pins to stay stable throughout the shoot. The black fabric of the skirt had a wonderful texture, and to balance the overall brightness, I added a blue ribbon accent at the waist. The Black stockings are an essential component of this look, featuring white star and cross patterns; paired with chunky black heeled boots, they visually elongated the leg lines, which was crucial for photo composition.
The shooting location was a Western-style mansion featuring a vintage piano, where the carved wooden walls and wallpaper perfectly matched the dark, elegant atmosphere of Ave Mujica. With a longsword and white flowers placed on the piano as props, I experimented with poses like leaning, reclining, and wielding the sword. Because the voluminous ruffled skirt spread out so wide, seated poses were best for showcasing the patterns on the Black stockings and leg lines, so most shots focused on centered seated poses like in Photo 3.
The costume's inner lining was quite thick, which, combined with the heavy horn accessories and long curls, made standing for extended periods quite tiring. However, under the lighting setup, this Gothic Lolita style outfit truly created a compelling narrative mood. For makeup, I deliberately deepened the eyeshadow to complement her cool, aloof expression rather than going for an overly sweet style. We adjusted the skirt placement multiple times during the shoot to preserve the silhouette. In post-processing, while preserving natural skin texture, I slightly enhanced the vintage warm ambient tones. Combining elements like the piano, sword, and mask, the final result matched what I envisioned for this cosplay shoot.
