This Genshin Impact Ganyu Cosplay set was shot on an outdoor wrought-iron daybed in a garden. We made quite a few adjustments from hair and makeup to lighting. Because Ganyu naturally possesses an aloof and elegant aura, I opted for translucent, subtle makeup, focusing on defining the eye contour and her natural red pupils. For the hair, I chose a light blue gradient wig and reinforced the red-and-black horn accessories on top, which paired with a white lace headband to create wonderful texture under the light. As for the costume, the most challenging elements were the tiered, ruffled light-blue tulle sleeves, along with the black cutout lace on the chest and the golden corset. To reflect the character's temperament, I paired the outfit with semi-sheer Black stockings, which elegantly accentuate leg lines and create a striking contrast against the white dress under soft lighting. The lighting on set was the gentle natural glow of the afternoon. To highlight the lazy, relaxed mood, we experimented with prone, seated, and reclining poses. For instance, sitting on the edge of the bed as in the second shot—extending the legs forward with an index finger resting against the lips—made great use of the contrast between the skirt hem and the Black stockings to showcase overall contours, making it one of my favorite compositions. In terms of details, the nails were painted in a light blue matching the wig, using a matte finish to avoid distracting glare. The blue locks and red horns established a balanced warm-cool color contrast in frame. Post-processing mainly involved slight color grading to make the overall atmosphere more airy and translucent, preserving the fine textures of the lace edges and sheer tulle. Regarding styling accents, the red ribbons and golden bells were the finishing touch, adding dynamic motion with every hand gesture. When adjusting body posture, the key was engaging the core to avoid appearing stiff; for example, in the lying-down pose on the bed, resting the chin on one hand and tilting the head slightly utilized the pillow as support to reveal a relaxed side of the character. Throughout shooting this Genshin Impact Ganyu Cosplay set, we spent considerable time refining the interplay of light and micro-expressions, especially capturing a gaze that conveys both mature composure and a hint of youthful playfulness. The final result feels highly polished, preserving a genuine 2D character likeness where costume, makeup, and setting blend naturally. In cosplay photography, finding the right setting and lighting is essential, and this garden iron-bed scene perfectly matched the design language of the outfit.
