[Ganyu Cosplay] Genshin Impact Liyue Character Interpretation, Building Serenity with a Fan and a Chess Game

Before this shoot, I actually did some homework on the fabric and structure of this outfit. In the original design, the blue, black, and brown three-color patchwork has a strong sense of staggered layering. The deep blue main fabric carries a subtle matte texture, and with the gold border accents, it adds a somewhat steady fantasy color on top of a gorgeous Chinese traditional style foundation. The black flying collar at the neckline and the metal decorations around the neck require special attention to angles during the studio shoot, which, when combined with the body curves, can present a very sharp sense of line.

The detached sleeve design on the arms is very unique, with the wide upward-extending cut carrying a certain variant style, forming a clever echo with the main outfit. The focus of the overall visual, besides the off-shoulder upper body and hollowed-out back, also derives its frame tension from the leg rings and irregular hemline. Especially in a sitting position, the high slit and leg ring details can naturally elongate the leg lines. This is why Picture 3 was chosen as the cover angle; this composition showcases the ingenious design of the attire without making the frame look overly crowded.

The wig selected was a light blue-purple style. To recreate the lightness in the setting, special emphasis was placed on the fluffiness of the hair strands and the natural curve of the hair ends during texturing and styling. The black-and-red horns on the head paired with small white flower hair accessories add to the agility of the styling. The eyeshadow selected was a subtle purple-gray tone, which can both echo the hair color and enhance the depth of the gaze under warm background lighting, highlighting the overall cool temperament.

The set construction is also a plus for this set of photos. A Chinese indoor space with classical wooden lattice doors and windows was selected, incorporating calligraphy scrolls, a Go board, and a raw wood-colored tea table as props. The warm yellow light of the afternoon or evening pierced through the lattices, casting very regular geometric shadows on the skin and clothing. This lighting ratio instantly gives the image a cinematic feel. This warm light combined with the cool-toned clothing can generate high contrast, making it easier to highlight the subject's silhouette.

During the actual shoot, the round fan and folding fan were very helpful props. The round fan carries a semi-translucent light transmission and flower-grass patterns, which can partially block the face to create a sense of mystery or utilize the fan handle to extend the arm lines. The posture of gently waving the folding fan in Picture 4, combined with a slightly tilted composition, naturally allows the classical elegance to flow out. As for the backward glance angle in Picture 2, combined with the intentionally designed hollowed-out back and the hanging red tassels, it ensures that the overall styling not only looks appealing from the front but also has a rich sense of layering from behind. In fact, this type of Chinese-style cosplay photography heavily tests the understanding of the environment and the interaction with the light and props inside the scene. The final photos of this set basically met expectations in terms of atmosphere, beautifully conveying the character's serene yet agile feeling.
