[Sunna cosplay] Standing Firm in the World of Zenless Zone Zero, Freezing This Lively Sense of motion - Image 1

Supporting on a single leg combined with the extension of a leaning-back posture is a movement specifically designed to replicate Sunna's vivid traits. In the frame, the pink-painted toy gun and the backpack buckles both show the consideration for prop detail restoration. The costume features a white top paired with a black skirt, while the bright pink striped slouch socks and leg rings greatly enhance the visual tension, creating a striking color contrast with the light mint-colored twin-tail wig.

During the studio shoot, to find this exact moment where a sense of suspension and balance coexist as shown in the picture, I repeatedly adjusted the center of gravity and the angles of my joints. The on-site photographer used high-frequency strobe lights to freeze the movement, capturing the frozen dynamic frame of the naturally swinging skirt hem and the raised weapon. This kind of movement design, which leans toward a 2D aesthetic, requires expressing relaxation amidst tension, which heavily tests one's ability to master the character's styling.

This attempt can be considered another practice of controlling movement tension under the framework of the "2D Account Evolution Theory." Sunna's design inherently carries a playful and active attribute. Corresponding to a real cosplay shoot, one must utilize the staggered lines of colorful straps and crossbody bag straps to enrich the composition, preventing the dullness brought by a single standing pose. Some zipper details on the surface of the clothing were also specially treated, keeping the color system of the props and clothing unified while maintaining distinct layers. In post-processing, the light, shadow, and highlight edges in the frame were slightly enhanced to make the contours of the pink gun body and white top clearer during this process of Cosplay photography.

The overall presented sense of motion relies not only on visual weight added in post-processing, but even more on reasonably reducing the weight of the character's weapon and hairpieces during early preparations. Only in this way can a sufficiently flexible range of motion be maintained during the shoot. I hope that through this static photo, everyone can feel the confident and lively energy of Sunna that I am trying to convey. Continuously polishing performance methods and improving physical expression is actually one of the most enjoyable parts of playing cosplay. Every time I re-examine a character, I can discover areas for optimization in makeup and costume details.
