Preparing today's Gongsun Li styling involved a great deal of preliminary work on garment details. The core palette features orange-red, complemented by geometric color-blocking in gold and white, creating an exceptionally vivid and multi-layered visual presence. The top features a cropped, midriff-baring design; metallic-accented ornaments on the chest and white diamond patterns at the cuffs strive to match the airy lightness of the original character design. The sleeves are tailored as wide bell sleeves edged with crisp white piping, ensuring a beautiful weighted drape and flowing sweep whether resting naturally or lifted during takes. To align the overall look with the character's persona, I added a pair of fluffy white bunny ears adorned with red leaf-shaped hairpins on both sides. The delicate black choker around my neck served as the finishing touch—visually elongating the neckline while adding a touch of crisp poise.

For hair styling, I chose a long straight pink-orange wig, whose blunt bangs framed and flattered facial contours nicely. Makeup focused heavily on ocular color depth, blending expansive swathes of red and pink eyeshadow paired with upturned winged eyeliner to evoke a spirited, nimble expression. The base foundation was kept immaculate and translucent, avoiding any heavy cakey look under outdoor daylight. For the lips, a dewy orange-red lip tint mirrored the overarching color scheme.

The location was set in a classical Chinese garden. Wooden railings, a backdrop shaded by green foliage, and white plaster walls with stone steps in the distance offered ideal harmony with this traditional Chinese aesthetic. Sitting alongside the wooden railing holding a red Oiled paper umbrella, the red-and-yellow canopy not only echoed my garments, but also enriched the chromatic palette of the frame. Because the hem and leg design incorporate slits, a side-seated posture naturally accentuated leg lines. The coordinated dark leggings—accented with white diamond motifs and cutouts reminiscent of patterned Stockings—provided ease of movement around the garden while injecting rich dimension into the ensemble. Soft daylight illuminated the shoot, and for post-processing, I chose a vintage, dreamy atmospheric grade to evoke a leisurely, tranquil mood.

As a cosplayer, preparing any look—from fittings and makeup trials to on-location shooting—is a continual process of refinement. I tailored gestures to the environment: leaning against the balustrade gazing into the distance, or looking down while fingering the umbrella handle, immersing myself into this specific space. Fluid physical extension directly dictates final frame quality, so I paid close attention to keeping my spine erect and hand postures organic. I'm thoroughly pleased with how these photos turned out; the garment details and scenic ambiance met every expectation.

In truth, this outfit's color scheme put lighting control to the test. Orange-red blows out easily under direct sunlight, so I deliberately avoided harsh midday sun, scheduling the shoot between 3:00 and 4:00 PM. This golden-hour light cast a warm glow across the metallic fabric patchwork, yielding gorgeous specular sheen. Furthermore, dappled foliage shadows cast rich textures across the backdrop. Prop handling with the umbrella was equally deliberate: opening it not only balanced composition, but also guided focal lines, setting the subject apart from a complex background. Because the character is inherently agile, I kept poses relaxed rather than stiff. Angling slightly sideways with one hand resting on the railing and the other raised naturally highlighted both garment tailoring and body contours. The cutout design along the leggings accentuated the leg silhouette while seated, balancing dashing coolness with mature allure. Every outdoor shoot is an intimate dialogue with the character; from the stitching of the hem to the curve of every hair strand, I strive to honor her while breathing fresh vitality into the portrayal. Bringing a 2D character into the real world is the most enchanting magic of cosplay. This set documents that afternoon's light and shadow, as well as my creative interpretation of Gongsun Li.
