On the third day of the Anime convention, my turn on the Coser shift at the Nikon booth finally arrived. This time, instead of opting for overly intricate heavy armor or evening gowns, I chose this modernized Traditional Chinese style cosplay look featuring black-and-white color blocking and panda motifs. Paired with silver-white hair buns, signature white fluffy pom-pom tassels, and a folding fan prop in hand, I was genuinely satisfied with the on-site character recreation. In particular, holding that single-leg lift pose for five to six seconds for the photographers to capture wasn't nearly as tiring as expected, thanks to the exceptionally stable center of gravity of the platform shoes.

Regarding hair and makeup, I made specific adjustments today to better suit the venue's lighting conditions. Under complex event lighting—especially beneath strong overhead spotlights at the Nikon booth—eyeshadow shouldn't be overly heavy, or the eye makeup can easily look muddy. Silver-white wigs actually require much more attention to natural hair flow than black wigs. Today, I carefully combed the blunt bangs and double buns into smooth, rounded curves; combined with the large pom-poms dangling on both sides, they framed the face beautifully while adding dynamic motion during larger movements. The folding fan was a versatile prop, serving as an extension of the hand in half-body compositions and adding visual tension in full-body shots, creating a very harmonious result in the photos.

Because the booth featured a striking bright yellow circular ring backdrop paired with a black stage platform, it was a real test for the exposure control of the photography gear. Yet it must be said that the photographers' Nikon cameras focused decisively without hesitation, even under chaotic lighting. Especially when shooting from a distance with telephoto lenses, the creamy background blur brought by the wide aperture softly dissolved the bustling crowds and exhibition boards behind me, highlighting the cosplayer and costume details. Seeing the razor-sharp edge definition in the viewfinder made the shooting rhythm remarkably smooth without needing constant checks for missed focus.

As for the styling details, I went with a White thigh-highs outfit pairing white tights with chunky black platform heels. Many cosplayers worry that light-colored stockings might make legs look thicker, but paired with the right footwear, they actually elongate leg proportions visually. The black-and-white layered ruffled skirt ended right above the knee, showcasing leg lines gracefully whether crouching or standing on one leg, all while ensuring no risk of exposure. The panda prints and ink-splash aesthetic on the garment tempered the exaggeration of 2D character designs, infusing an extra touch of trendy Chinese chic and playful elegance into this cosplay outfit.

In fact, the greatest joy of cosplaying at an Anime convention isn't just wearing the costume, but interacting genuinely offline with friends who share the same love for 2D culture and photography. While at the booth, many attendees came over to look through the lens or politely stepped out of the viewfinder to help with framing. This atmosphere of being recognized and focused on by the camera brings a far deeper sense of fulfillment than taking phone selfies. Moreover, the Nikon staff on-site were incredibly friendly, proactively helping tidy up the surrounding booth area and clear away clutter when they saw us preparing to shoot.

Overall, the entire shooting experience remained fresh and exciting throughout. From garments and accessories to hair strands and the folding fan, every single detail was recorded beautifully before the booth. Although I have explored many styles before, this blend of Traditional Chinese style cosplay and 2D aesthetics in black-and-white still holds a unique charm before the lens. This is perhaps the true magic of an Anime convention: everyone prepares with care and comes together out of pure love for these works. This set of photos leaves a vivid mark on my convention journey, serving as a wonderful keepsake for this offline event.
