When shooting this Rindo Haitani cosplay photo set, to faithfully recreate the cool, detached feel of the character from Tokyo Revengers, I chose this classic Black suit look paired with a pink-highlighted wig. A lot of effort went into the entire styling and makeup process.

Styling this wig was quite challenging: the bangs required repeated shaping to achieve that slightly tousled, textured layering, while keeping the blue-green gradient sheen at the tips intact. For makeup, I used a fairer base paired with grey-blue contact lenses, making the gaze sharper and exuding an oppressive Cold aura. The costume is a full black suit set layered over a grey vest and white shirt, accented with a light pink tie that echoes the hair color. The black triangular pendant around the neck is a vital element for character fidelity, and putting it on immediately brought the overall temperament closer.

The first photo was taken on stairs; the temperature was quite low at the time, so I had to drape a thick overcoat over the outside. It captured a casual and distant mood, utilizing the depth of the staircase to add spatial dimension to the frame. The shooting process for the second Night photography photo was quite interesting—the photographer continually adjusted the speedlight position because the background was pitch black, needing to balance the subject's illumination with the shadows of the background trees. I struck a peace sign while leaning forward, mainly to convey the character's effortless, slightly provocative smirk.

The third photo is my personal favorite: standing on a tall black ladder with a cigarette in hand, the shutter clicking right as I exhaled smoke. The harsh top light paired with the pitch-black backdrop created high contrast between light and shadow, accentuating facial shadows and character contours. To achieve an elongated leg line, I wore platform boots and adjusted my stepping position on the ladder so the suit trousers fell straight and sleek. Shooting the ladder pose was actually quite tiring; I had to maintain balance while managing facial expressions—especially keeping my eyes unfocused and gazing away from the lens to convey that unruly nonchalance.

The silhouette of the suit is crucial; this structured, oversized cut relies heavily on shoulder support, so shoulder pads were added inside. Walking in high heels paired with a long suit silhouette creates a distinct sense of crisp authority and commanding presence. I especially love the lighting ambiance in this set—whether the cool tones on the stairs, the speedlights in the night scene, or the hard light in the studio, everything blended seamlessly with the character's aura. During makeup, eye styling was heavily emphasized; elongated eyeliner combined with a subtle frown instantly locked me into the role.

During this shoot, I shared many ideas with the photographer, mainly designing poses around the character's dangerous charm—such as the way to hold a cigarette or step onto the ladder. I'm very pleased with the final result, which turned out richly textured.
