[Rindo Haitani cosplay] Tonight's Champagne Tower: Raising a Glass Just for You

My Princess, thank you for your nomination tonight. For this shoot, I prepared a high-fidelity look—more than a photoshoot, it felt like a midnight stroll.

This Rindo Haitani cosplay required plenty of attention to props and clothing. Styling the Pink, black and blue hair color gradient wig took more time than expected, as the bangs had to balance obscuring the eyes to preserve an aura of mystery. To hold the styling, I used plenty of hairspray, giving the hair strands that crisp, sharp look in the photos. For makeup, I subtly altered the eye shape, paired with dark contact lenses to make the gaze feel colder. The outfit combined a white shirt, pink tie, and grey Suit vest draped with a black overcoat; this layering photographed brilliantly under the mall's cool-toned ambient light. Wearing a Suit vest also came with a detail to mind: keeping the cuffs and neckline immaculate, or excess creasing would look unkempt.

The location was the outdoor open-air staircase of the mall downstairs. The lighting was relatively dim at night, surrounded by warm light strips and glass reflections. The small prop in my hand was initially intended for lines and action poses, but simply holding it with a nonchalant expression ended up delivering a much stronger visual punch. While waiting for fill lighting, I kept pondering the 'gambling brother, sleepy brother, street gangster brother' tropes along with that fragile edge—facial expressions couldn't be overdone, requiring a delicate balance of seeming careless while carrying hidden turbulence beneath the surface.

Because the temperature fluctuated and the mall's air conditioning was on high, even with the overcoat half-draped, the breeze felt quite chilly. Reviewing the shots, the lighting on the profile shot captured the character's typical vibe very well, but needing a centered composition for the cover, I selected the front-facing portrait. The overall presentation matched the character's essence in Tokyo Revengers while incorporating my own touches. From the Suit vest details to the multi-tonal hair colors, everything translated gracefully in front of the lens. Documenting this as a fresh, memorable Convention photos experience.
