Bringing this Tsushima Yoshiko cosplay Qipao cosplay awakening look from planning to final shoot took quite a bit of time. We specifically chose an antique corridor to match the red-orange fish lantern in my hand, with warm bokeh glowing in the background, perfectly fitting the theme of a New Year's night stroll at the Lantern festival. The outfit is packed with fine details: a white panda hood with black ears that makes the face look pleasantly petite, and a main white Chinese-style vest featuring a blue mandarin collar linked by delicate gold frog closures. Complemented by black sleeves featuring gold fretwork along the cuffs and gold earrings, the overall ensemble is both classical and playful. For the lower half, the blue pleated skirt with cloud patterns has black lace trimming along the hem, paired with over-the-knee White stockings and leg rings to accentuate the leg lines nicely.

To highlight the beauty of the White stockings and leg lines during the shoot, the photographer and I put a lot of thought into camera angles. Standing slightly sideways while leaning forward effectively lengthened the leg proportions; sitting utilized the height difference of the steps to naturally overlap the legs, creating a clear visual contrast between the stockings and the lace hem. For hair and makeup, I chose reddish-pink contacts with slightly winged eyeliner and subtle gold glitter to suit the warm lighting environment. The hairstyle was a straight-bang black short bob held in place by the hood, adding an extra touch of cuteness.

Because this outfit represents an awakened theme, when interpreting the character, I preserved her signature playful and slightly chuunibyou nature while infusing a sense of calm, classical elegance. Resting with eyes closed on the steps, flashing a peace sign, or resting my chin on my hands while looking into the lens were all attempts to balance dynamic and static energy. The biggest challenge during the shoot was keeping props from blocking my face; since the fish lantern has a large silhouette that could affect composition, its distance and height had to be adjusted continuously.

In post-processing, the first two photos were edited to resemble in-game UR card UI frames, recreating the glittering excitement of pulling a card. For clean photos intended for social sharing, the main focus was color harmonization, keeping the lantern's orange-red and the ambient background light at the same color temperature to elevate the visual quality. The fabric texture of the White stockings can easily get overexposed under warm lights, so highlights were suppressed in editing to retain the natural textile weave.

This shoot was a wonderful experience. The wooden architecture and red tones of the corridor, enhanced by traditional festive lanterns, breathed vivid life into the costume. Delivering high-quality cosplay is not just about wearing the clothes, but also about immersing oneself in the character's mindset within a specific scene. This collection presents a Tsushima Yoshiko finding her own serene moment amidst the bustling Lantern festival, successfully completing the shoot in a process full of fun.
