[Sunna cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Convention Photo: Props and Styling Details on Point

Bringing out this set of Sunna cosplay convention photos today to share a few details from the shoot. This outfit represents Sunna from Zenless Zone Zero, and the mint-green palette felt exceptionally refreshing for an outdoor summer setting. We chose an outdoor staircase area framed by lush trees and steel framework, where direct sunlight and deep shadows created striking chiaroscuro contrast.

Starting with the costume: the wig is long, wavy mint-green hair, prepped beforehand with a curling wand and layered hairpieces to ensure fluffy volume. The cat-ear headpiece on top is black and white with pink inner ears, connected beneath by a ruffled white maid headband. Small white ghost and green animal hairclips were pinned at the sides of the face, accompanied by a small black triangular clip on the bangs. The main dress is a black-and-white maid-style frock—crisp white shirt collar paired with a red necktie, adorned below with an oversized golden bell that jingled with every step. The skirt cascades in alternating black-and-white ruffled tiers, finished with rigid white wings affixed to the back for instant character recognition.

The props were equally central to this shoot. In hand was a compact pink flip-open gaming console, flanked by a red-and-white megaphone embellished with black cat ears and whiskers. For the backpack, I picked a red rectangular hard-shell case with circular cutouts on the side, capturing the original design with satisfying fidelity. On the legs were white over-the-knee socks paired with white slouchy leg warmers tied with small red ribbons, rounded out by black-and-white sneakers. The combination of White stockings and slouchy cuffs created fluid leg lines that perfectly embodied the character's Loli charm.

During posing, sitting on the wooden steps absorbed in a smartphone appeared effortless, but nailing that natural look took several angle adjustments. With a voluminous mini skirt, positioning while seated required constant vigilance, while ensuring the White stockings and leg warmers maintained balanced proportions in the frame. For the phone shots, hand placement and eye line were gently guided so they didn't feel staged. Sunlight dappled through the leaves onto the steps, letting the photographer catch authentic candid moments. That very first frame turned out remarkably balanced and focused—ideal for a profile avatar.

The small wings, golden bell, tie, and layered legwear provided strong visual focal points; shifting into slight side profiles or seated stances displayed the outfit's rich dimensionality. Maintaining the wig outdoors was somewhat challenging in breezy gusts, requiring regular touch-ups to the hair ornaments. Overall, the shoot was relaxed and the props held up crisp under scrutiny. Sunna's styling is packed with intricate touches—from quirky hair accessories to the red-black-white color story and rear wings. Wrapping up after an active afternoon was tiring, but seeing every element come alive in the final cuts made it deeply rewarding. Time to get back to retouching!
