For Formidable's JK sailor uniform styling, a lot of thought went into polishing the makeup, styling, and clothing details. To recreate that elegant vibe with a hint of a young lady's temper, the wig was chosen with extremely exaggerated floor-length twin-tails. The most troublesome part of handling such wig length is anti-tangling; before the shoot, it had to be repeatedly combed with special care solution, and a slight curl was added to the hair ends so that the hair strands would have a natural arc when moving or turning in front of the camera. The lace hair accessory on top of the head is custom-made, and its black-and-white color scheme echoes the collar of the sailor uniform, increasing the overall exquisiteness. In terms of makeup, to fit the character's exquisite features with a slightly mixed-race feel, the eye makeup deepened the contours, paired with vibrant red contact lenses and a droopy-eye makeup technique, making the gaze look both innocent and slightly tsundere. The cut of the sailor uniform is extremely structured, and I especially love the white stripes on the sleeves and the huge red bowtie on the chest; the red-and-black color blocking is very eye-catching visually. The skirt was chosen as a relatively stiff pleated skirt, so that when sitting down or making movements, the skirt's pleats still maintain a great shape. Paired underneath was a pair of highly translucent white stockings. Actually, white stockings under lighting easily reflect light and make legs look thicker, so during the shoot, the photographer was specially asked to adjust the light position so that the light could softly filter through, perfectly showcasing the leg lines. The classroom scene setup fits the atmosphere of this outfit remarkably well. Desks and chairs, the blackboard, plus the bookshelf and globe in the background—once these elements were added, the texture of a youthful campus immediately emerged. Many poses were tried during the shoot. For example, sitting cross-legged on a desk while holding the black glossy uniform shoes, or stretching the legs out onto the desk; this composition utilizing the height differences of the desk not only showcased the white stockings wonderfully, but also elongated the leg lines. The black single-shoulder leather bag is a great interactive prop; whether carried in hand or placed casually beside, it adds a sense of storytelling to the photos. The cross-legged posture on the chair actually has very high requirements for leg shapes, but through side-on positioning and knee occlusion, it's possible to capture photos with a strong sense of layering. To express the character's personality, expression management is also crucial. You can't just have a single smile; sometimes the gaze needs a touch of stubbornness, or a slight head tilt with a finger pointing at the camera, as if interacting with the viewer. The chalk drawing on the blackboard was an unexpected surprise; those little stars and cartoon patterns instead added a bit of everyday playfulness. The most tiring part of shooting this set was dealing with that long hair; after finishing every single pose, I had to fix the hair strands to ensure no tangles or knots. However, seeing the effect of the final photos made all this hard work totally worth it. The entire shooting process was a search for the balance point between a two-dimensional character and a realistic scene, hoping to present a state that is both faithful to the setting and naturally everyday.
