[Kuonji Alice Cosplay] The Classic Black-Tone Daily Feel of Witch on the Holy Night

The moment I changed into this look, I felt it particularly matched Kuonji Alice's quiet and inherently mysterious aura. This time I'm trying out a very classic everyday casual outfit from Witch on the Holy Night. Rather than flashy magical elements, this minimalist black style makes it easier to capture the character's core traits.

Let's talk about the hairstyle first. This time I used a sharply cut black bob wig, paired with thick blunt bangs and an over-the-ear length, basically restoring that iconic schoolgirl bob silhouette. To make the crown look more natural and full, I slightly padded the hair underneath to give the entire head shape a rounder look. For the makeup, the focus fell on the eye look and creating an atmospheric eye area. I used a grey-pink eyeshadow across a large area as a base, paired with an elongated dark eyeliner to expand the eye shape, intentionally painting the eyes a bit rounder to bring out a unique innocent yet cold demeanor. Choosing a pair of light-toned, small-diameter colored contacts gave the gaze more translucent clarity, and the blush was placed relatively high to add a touch of vitality and refinement, demonstrating a perfect black hair with blunt bangs style.

Now let's chat about my thoughts on this outfit. For the top, I selected a slim-fit black ribbed turtleneck base shirt made of a soft, form-fitting fabric. This kind of basic item heavily tests the garment's quality; the proper thickness keeps the collar upright, perfectly framing the neck lines. Since the entire set consists of a large area of black, the accessories become exceptionally critical. The pearl necklace around the neck is the crowning touch; the fine chain and staggered pearls break up the heaviness of the all-black look, while beautifully matching Kuonji Alice's prestigious, high-born aesthetic taste. For the lower body, I paired it with a black-and-white houndstooth miniskirt in an A-line cut. The density of this houndstooth pattern is moderate, which fits the retro and clean-cut style of the flat illustrations better than fine, dense checks. Black opaque tights and glossy black loafers perfectly complete the lower half of this black turtleneck outfit, and the addition of loafers lends a touch of natural schoolgirl vibe alongside the mystery.

When preparing this photo set, I intentionally added the corresponding character acrylic stand into the scene as a reference. The full-length mirror selfie in Figure 2 was meant to replicate that cold, restrained, yet highly concrete two-dimensional atmosphere. During the shoot, I paid close attention to the placement of limbs and my posture, keeping my core tight so that wearing a tight-fitting top and a high-waisted skirt would better flatter my body proportions. The perspective of holding the phone to take photos also simulated a private, casual daily state. Compared to formal studio shoots, I feel this presentation style with a slice of life-like atmosphere can better convey the character's authenticity in an everyday background.

Sorting through these photos was actually quite an enjoyable process because Witch on the Holy Night itself is a work with a very strong sense of atmosphere. The characters' outfits do not chase exaggerated, strange garments, but are instead high-quality daily coordinates. This is also where I love to ponder when restoring a character—how to seize their spiritual core through basic garment cuts and detailed accessories. This attempt is not only a tribute to the character but also an expansion of my own daily styling ideas; the combination of a turtleneck knit and a plaid miniskirt is actually highly practical in reality. In short, the charm of Kuonji Alice lies in the loftiness hidden within her quietness, and I hope this cosplay share appropriately delivers that subtle sense of aloofness and daily feel.
