Preparing for this Closure cosplay default outfit from Arknights took quite a bit of effort in advance. What attracts me most about this character's default design is her slightly cool and mysterious aura. Starting with the wig, it features deep blue tones with blue highlights; the thick bangs on the forehead and layered long hair on both sides required meticulous styling. To keep the shape from collapsing at the Anime convention venue, I sprayed a generous amount of styling products. Furthermore, finding a stable anchor point for the two black horns on top was tricky—wearing them for a long time pinched my head a bit, but it was completely worth it to faithfully recreate the look.
For the eyes, I specifically selected red contact lenses, paired with pointed elf ears and a touch of red smudging in the eye makeup to make my gaze sharper before the camera. The ears weren't standard stick-ons, but custom-modified pieces; I spent a long time deliberating on the angle so they would look like they grew naturally.
As for the costume, the predominantly white jacket layered over the red-paneled inner top creates rich visual depth. Details such as the neckline zipper, black criss-cross straps on the chest, and belt buckles emphasize material texture. Since people were constantly coming and going at the Anime convention venue, the outfit had to stay sharp while allowing ease of movement. The tightness of the detached sleeves and wrist buckles was specially adjusted, accented by metallic hardware.
The prop gun held in my hand was also custom-made, painted in black and yellow with red tubular fittings, carrying substantial weight. Initially, I wasn't used to its heaviness, and my arm would ache after holding it up for too long, but I gradually mastered posing with one hand holding the gun while making hand gestures. Before heading to the convention, I practiced posing with the gun and making peace signs in front of the mirror at home numerous times—after all, it needed to look dashing while balancing that charming gap-moe.
The lighting at the Anime convention venue was rather cluttered that day, with overhead spotlights causing glare. To capture an event photo with clear facial features and prop clarity, the photographer explored multiple angles to avoid the harsh overhead glare. I walked a lot, stood for hours, and touched up my makeup multiple times throughout the day, but seeing fellow fans appreciate the default skin adaptation and having friends praise the prop fidelity made every bit of effort worthwhile.
This photo is one of the more satisfying shots, capturing the instant I flashed a peace sign. Walking around the hall in full gear made me feel completely immersed in the character's aura, freely enjoying the convention vibe all day long.
