Today is October 9th, perfectly aligning with Suzuran's birthday, and this Ode to Spring photoshoot can finally be unveiled! To properly capture this outfit for Little Lisa, I did extensive prep work beforehand. The materials of the Ode to Spring design are remarkably refined; upon receiving the costume, the plush fleece top felt delightfully soft and cozy, perfectly suited for the autumn ambiance.
For the outdoor location, I chose a neatly manicured lawn framed by sculpted shrubs. The sunlight that day was gorgeous, casting a luminous sheen over the golden wig that made it appear exceptionally translucent. To recreate the fluffy, lively essence seen in the original artwork, the wig was brushed into smooth, sleek locks with straight bangs in front to enhance an innocent, youthful silhouette. The Kemonomimi girl ears and the tail were both the focal highlight and the steepest challenge of the shoot. The tail is massive, requiring hidden belts and support straps for stabilization, and walking around required extreme care to avoid catching on stray branches. Yet the final visual was well worth the effort—the organic fur texture looked remarkably natural, with the white-to-yellow gradient displaying rich dimension under the sun.
Makeup-wise, to align with the character concept of Little Lisa, Suzuran from Arknights, I accentuated the proportion of the eyes. Wearing yellowish-green contact lenses, I laid an earth-tone base for the eye makeup, complemented by prominent aegyo sal and a natural orange-toned blush to give the entire aura an innocent, adorable sweetness. The woven wicker basket held in hand was another essential prop; lined with white fabric and filled with small trinkets, it comfortably occupied hand gestures and made every posture look relaxed and organic.
While shooting, to channel the character's unblemished purity, I kept myself as relaxed as possible, avoiding forced posing and instead imagining myself strolling freely through an empty, secluded garden. When sitting on the grass, the grand tail spread out gracefully behind me, forming a vivid contrast against the verdant hedge. The photographer was fantastic at capturing spontaneous candid moments, using a wide aperture to melt the red blooms and distant trees into creamy bokeh, locking visual focus entirely onto the character and garment details. Though the afternoon sun was bright and warm, causing a bit of sweat beneath the fleece top, previewing the straight-out-of-camera RAW shots made every drop of effort feel entirely justified. Little Lisa's smile and her quiet, gentle strength were precisely what I strove to convey. I hope this garden-themed Ode to Spring set allows everyone to feel the peace and warmth of Rhodes Island. Through these photos, I also want to whisper: Happy Birthday, Little Lisa! Moving forward, I will continue pouring my heart into recreating every beloved character, chronicling the magic of the 2D world through real-life imagery.
