Preparing for this swimsuit shoot of La Pluma (La Pluma cosplay) from Arknights (Arknights) involved a fairly intricate pre-production process. To faithfully evoke that lively summer beach vibe, I styled a white bikini-style top and shorts paired with a sheer, light-blue sun-protection cover-up. Wearing this jacket requires careful styling—it shouldn't be worn too neatly; letting it slip halfway off the shoulders creates an effortless, breezy, and refreshing feel. For the wig, her signature charcoal-black twin buns were paramount; I spent considerable time adjusting their volume and placement so they looked full yet organic. The yellow floral hair ornament and cloud-shaped mini hair clips served as quintessential touches, injecting an extra dose of sweetness. For cosmetics, aligning with a 2D anime aesthetic, I used vibrant eyeshadow paired with crimson contact lenses, subtly enlarging the eye contour so the gaze appeared bright and spirited.

The set was staged in an indoor studio, where artificial sand and a baby-blue wading pool recreated a seaside ambiance. During the shoot, I explored several distinct postures. In the shot seated atop the white surfboard, engaging leg muscle tone was essential while naturally raising the light-blue and white megaphone prop—an iconic staple for La Pluma that instantly dialed me into character. Holding the megaphone, I envisioned myself actively directing the scene, allowing my body language to open up organically. In the shot perched by the pool hugging a massive swim ring, I glanced back over my shoulder toward the lens to evoke a candid, caught-on-camera moment; having the ring partially conceal the torso added a subtle, understated elegance. For the full-length shot on the beach lounger, I extended my legs crossed to visually elongate leg proportions, harmonizing cleanly with the chair, wooden slat background, and surfboards.

Throughout the session, studio lighting primarily simulated natural daylight, casting clear, crystalline ripples across the water surface. Rubber duckies and starfish toys scattered on the ground were intentionally added to enrich the composition. Although shot in an indoor studio, the combination of props, set dressing, and post-color grading brought to life the exact vision of La Pluma vacationing on a summer beach that I envisioned. Between takes, I paid close attention to how lighting hit the scene. While artificial sets offer convenience, capturing authentic sunlit radiance requires constant communication with the photographer on angles. By the pool, for instance, water reflections could become harsh, so I subtly tilted my face to avoid blown-out highlights and keep facial lighting soft and balanced. As for holding the megaphone, I experimented with multiple grips, ultimately finding that holding the handle with one hand raised slightly—directing my gaze along the megaphone's line of sight or locking straight into the lens—best conveyed her personality.
