This Di Gi Charat cosplay look is a highly classic existence in old-school ACG aesthetics. After receiving the custom full outfit, I couldn't wait to complete a recreation shoot indoors. The overall color scheme is dominated by blue and white, which is both refreshing and highly recognizable for the character. The large golden bell on the chest, combined with the large bell decorations on both sides of the head and the matching pink fluffy animal ears, absolutely anchors the visual focus on the head and neck as signature elements. Based on the pattern issue mentioned in the post description, I actually found during try-on that the expected exaggerated bell-shape flare didn't really come through; even a heavy-duty petticoat couldn't fully puff it up. Although the hemline has loose wood-ear lace ruffles, the overall fabric is still somewhat soft and flat. Therefore, I highly recommend that if you want to cosplay this look, you must layer a high-volume petticoat so that the proportions below the waist can be more dimensional, presenting a perfect A-line silhouette.

Although the petticoat's effect was compromised, this soft state unexpectedly matched the fluffy, 'fuwafuwa' cute vibe. Combined with those giant white fluffy cat paw gloves and the equally fluffy plush boot covers at the bottom, the visual puffiness is incredibly strong, giving off an intense sense of rounded cuteness. During the shoot, I tried multiple different angles—such as standing next to a retro small round table holding a cake, which perfectly allowed the plush paws and boot covers to get a reasonable showcase. However, when it came to actually grasping props, these fluffy gloves indeed brought massive mobility limitations; it was completely impossible to finely manipulate objects, and I could only rely on strategic positioning to complete the action of lifting the cake.

Speaking of the scene layout, to complement the characteristics of this old-school ACG character Di Gi Charat / Chocolat, I specifically utilized a lot of lace drapery, artificial hanging greenery, and a pink tassel table lamp in the shooting environment. Mixing these elements together under the warm yellow lighting successfully conjured a young girl's bedroom atmosphere belonging to retro subcultures. Including the Lolita clothing rack assembled next to me and the scalloped carpet on the floor, they all added rich layers to the frame, making the entire photo look not like a simple studio shoot but an atmospheric portrait imbued with a sense of daily life.

Regarding the wig, the emerald green short hair is incredibly vibrant, and paired with the straight bangs, it looks full of energy. However, it's worth noting that when wearing the plush ear covers and bows, the wig can easily get squished in certain areas. I recommend thinning out the top slightly or adding a built-in support frame inside to ensure its natural fluffiness when worn. For makeup, to fit the character's close, cute personality traits, I deliberately reduced the shading and contouring. Through enlarged, round eye makeup and contact lenses, I enhanced the visual expressiveness of my features, giving the overall look more of a CG feel.

In reality, this cosplay might be quite unfamiliar to many new anime fans, but for veteran fans, it carries a deep old-school ACG sentiment. Every time you see the green hair, the blue-and-white dress, and the pair of bells on the head, it always reminds people of that past era filled with dynamic energy. The costume also handled some details well in terms of craftsmanship, such as the exquisite white lace piping on the collar, the silhouette of the puff sleeves, and the unique blue bow tie on the chest, all reflecting a certain level of production quality. Of course, the weight of the accessories is indeed a non-negligible issue—especially that giant bell and heavy headpiece, which can easily compress the neck and ears uncomfortably after frequent shooting.

If I were to summarize my feelings about this shoot, it would be that retro styling, with its unique design language, still has the potential to stand out even in today's trend dominated by grand, gorgeous skirts. While the petticoat issue left me with a bit of regret, it was precisely because of this that I discovered another soft and relaxed side of this styling. If I have the chance to cosplay this character again in the future, I will definitely layer a fuller petticoat, and then try adding some hand-painted details on the white lace gloves to better recreate the inner flutter of this classic character.
