[Sunna Cosplay] The Genius Girl in Zenless Zone Zero, New Outfit Release Site - Image 1

The design structure of this new outfit is exceptionally rich. The primary dress in a black and white color scheme features a red bow tie and small golden bells as visual anchors. To make the cat-ear headpiece look more natural, I specially chose cyan-green accessories in the same color family as the wig, and used hair gel to fix the edge lines of the hair. During the shoot, the most crucial point to watch out for was the layering interleaving between the large sleeves of the upper body and the ruffles at the wrists, requiring that raising or lowering the arms wouldn't cause the fabric to bunch up excessively. The inspiration for this poster set comes precisely from the character's state of free creation as an arranger. Therefore, I tried my best to maintain a relaxed but not sloppy stance in front of the lens, with hands slightly cupped and fingertips relaxed. For the wig, a low-saturation mint tone was selected, paired with a touch of goose-yellow shimmer in the eye makeup to echo the overall light blue and pink visuals on the poster.

Photographer Wu Xie provided many suggestions regarding high and low angles this time, especially for that hands-on-hips side-facing storyboard movement. He constantly adjusted the lighting positions to cast clear but not harsh shadows on the white petticoat. Shooting from day to evening, from single-person high-angle shots to macro close-ups, I tried my best to offer input on every aspect of this veteran artist's hand-crafted poster, such as typography, font selection, and element splicing. Although a cute Japanese-style layout was used on the poster, the actual execution of font selection and alignment between Chinese and Japanese characters took a massive amount of effort. The floating direction of the hair strands was also captured numerous times with the assistance of a fan combined with head-turning motions to finally get the currently natural-looking lines. Particularly worth mentioning is the pairing of the black garters on the over-the-knee socks with the white boots. For visual balance, the boots are not traditional round-toes but a shoe style with a slight platform edge, making them appear more powerful when walking. If this costume could be made into a Live2D or an in-game model, it would definitely be incredibly agile; whereas wearing it in reality, the biggest challenge is actually controlling the wrinkles on the upper arms and thighs during continuous movements.

Many fellow fans might notice that small accessory below the bow tie; it is actually a metallic-textured bell that wobbles subtly when walking, adding to the dynamic vitality. The entire shooting process heavily tested my physical stamina—maintaining a posture with the chest out and stomach in for a long time while simultaneously expressing the character's 'cute artist' attribute to the camera kept my entire cervical spine, waist, and back in a state of high tension. But seeing the final poster effect and being able to share this version of the new look in a relatively perfect visual state made all the consumed time and energy feel highly worth it. Choosing to use a primary color palette of pink, light blue, and green in the overall poster is actually a way of paying homage to the character's vibrant original art design. If there is an opportunity for an outdoor location shoot in the future, such as in a setting with a retro record store or a music studio, I believe it would bring out more of the character's inherent 'arranging master' atmosphere. The tailoring of this cosplay outfit has high requirements for the waistline; the inner corset and the lower puff skirt are detached, allowing for adjustment of the visual proportions to make the upper body look sleeker. During the shooting process, we also experimented with a few storyboard shots of the back. Although they weren't all placed into the poster in the end, the presentation of details from different angles gave me new styling inspiration. Every time we shoot a new outfit, it is an occasion of digging into the character's traits once again through professional Anime-style photography, rather than simply putting on a piece of clothing.
