[Tsubaki Rurikawa cosplay] Makeup and light-and-shadow record of Fallen Noble Rurikawa - Image 1

This set of Tsubaki Rurikawa cosplay of Fallen Noble Rurikawa required a lot of thought in makeup and styling. To fit the character's setting, I specially chose high-saturation bright blue colored contacts, paired with a large area of blended orange-pink blush around the eyes and cheeks, creating a slightly sickly yet exquisite noble girl vibe. The wig was trimmed into a neat-bangs short hair style, with natural layering done at the hair edges, paired with a white ruffled lace headband on top, forming a sharp black-and-white contrast with the pure black dress and white collar, creating a very strong visual center of focus.

The lighting design of the shooting scene was extremely exquisite. Dark grey fabric material was chosen for the background, and a large-aperture lens was used to blur the background, concentrating the light source directly onto the face, which can maximize the prominence of skin texture and makeup details. This set of pictures mainly consists of facial close-ups. To showcase the character's arrogant yet slightly melancholic temperament, I tried supporting my chin and cheek with one hand, fingertips gently touching the skin, with my gaze slightly raised. This body language can not only break the monotony of facial close-ups, but also convey the character's inner emotional tension. During the shooting process, I also constantly communicated angles with the photographer; especially the shadow and highlight transition of the jawline required extremely fine control.

The lace edge details of the maid outfit looked very soft under backlight. The overall shooting rhythm was quite compact because eyes get dry after wearing colored contacts for a long time, so we had to capture the most natural expression when in the best condition. The biggest challenge of portraying this character lies in breaking the inertia of daily movements, ensuring every gesture tries to fit the exaggerated aesthetic of 2D, while avoiding looking stiff. This is a shooting experience that pays great attention to micro-expressions and detail presentation, and I hope everyone can feel this quiet sense of atmosphere.
