Just received the final edited photos of this Firefly cosplay studio shoot at Chenxing Photography Studio. Collaborating with Teacher Yuchen this time, everything from makeup to light and shadow meshed together very smoothly, resulting in photos with a rich texture.

Let's talk about this styling combination. The wig was chosen as a silver-white long straight hair, with the ends featuring a proportionate mint-green gradient highlight, paired with blunt bangs and side temple hairs, giving the overall styling a strong sense of layering. In terms of makeup, the eye makeup focuses on pink-purple tones, paired with a clear base makeup. To highlight Firefly's quiet and gentle atmosphere, the eyelashes were detailed meticulously. The clothing is a white-and-gray sailor-style double-breasted coat, with a mint-green striped bow pinned to the chest, exquisite golden floral and wheat-ear embroidery on the right sleeve, and the neckline details are also cleanly handled. The lower body is paired with a gray-and-black checkered pleated skirt, pure white stockings with small embroidery details at the ankles, and black leather loafers. The overall color tone is fresh yet carries a retro feel.

The layout of the shooting venue was very thoughtful. Retro books with reddish-brown covers were stacked in the background, while white bookshelves and scattered wooden desks increased the depth of the frame. The entire space was decorated with a large number of soft-colored flowers such as pink, purple, yellow, and white. Draped light-yellow and light-blue gauze curtains filtered a hazy feeling under the lights, and the floor was covered with a red carpet featuring classical patterns, matched with vases and other ornaments, constructing a greenhouse photography study scene with strong classical charm.

During the shoot, the use of props helped the frame tremendously. The retro brown briefcase held in hand, along with white daisies and pink-and-white bouquets, richly enhanced the diversity of poses. The photographer was very particular about light usage, mostly using warm-toned side-backlight hitting the hair and clothes, especially the mint-green part of the hair ends, which exuded a lightweight texture under the light. The lens blurred the foreground flowers, making the subject's prominence stand out more.

In action design, we tried a variety of postures. For example, sitting on the carpet supporting the chin with one hand, sniffing flowers lightly, or standing while holding the briefcase. Because the skirt was paired with white stockings, special attention was paid to the extension of leg lines during the shoot, such as slightly lifting one leg on a chair, or capturing the flying state of the skirt hem and hair strands while walking. To showcase the complete clothing details, trade-offs were made in composition, covering both full-body and half-body shots, including interactive poses like looking back and handing flowers, trying to keep the emotion of each photo coherent.

The biggest difference between studio shooting and natural light outdoor shooting lies in the control of lighting. This time in a limited space, soft indoor light sources were simulated through lighting setups, making the whole frame look very dreamy. This set of photos reached the quiet and romantic effect I expected, and I hope everyone likes this creation.
