As I picked up this bottle of Fanta, I was still wondering where on earth my Sunday had run off to. Bringing Robin to life this time, from the makeup test to the location shoot, involved quite a few twists and turns, but I also gained a lot of experience. Taking advantage of some free time today, I'd like to share the behind-the-scenes story of this Honkai: Star Rail Robin cosplay.
Let's talk about the wig first. Robin's light blue hair has very strong layering; after buying it, I spent several nights trimming and styling it. To create that light, floating feel, the hair roots were volumized, and the curls at the tips were adjusted strand by strand with a curling iron. The halo and wings of the hair accessories are the focal points of this look; the halo was spliced together from acrylic sheets, and to ensure stable wear, a headband and invisible clips were added inside. The purple feather wing props on both sides carry some weight, so to keep them in a perfectly spread state during the shoot, I added elastic bands and fishing line for auxiliary fixation on the back so they wouldn't easily fall off or shift while walking or posing.
Costume-wise, the white off-the-shoulder top paired with orange bottoms creates a vibrant, bright color scheme that perfectly matches Robin's energetic trait. I faithfully recreated the orange tag and blue strap details of the top according to the original art. Since it was an outdoor location shoot, the costume's fabric was inevitably prone to wrinkling, so I specifically used a garment steamer to iron it repeatedly before the shoot. To prevent any wardrobe malfunctions, I also added clear shoulder straps and anti-slip stickers so I could feel at ease whether raising my hands or turning around.
For this shoot, I worked with the photographer white tiger photography. The outdoor weather was actually a bit muggy, and when the sunlight hit directly, it was almost impossible to keep my eyes open. White tiger photography was extremely professional, constantly guiding my expressions and poses—such as when to smile and when to cast my gaze into the distance. I brought a bottle of Fanta as a prop; on one hand, I felt the orange drink matched the outfit nicely, and on the other hand, I was genuinely thirsty. Taking a sip during shooting breaks and having a few candid shots snapped turned out surprisingly natural.
While shooting this photo set, my mind kept wondering: as Robin, she must definitely be missing Sunday in her heart, just like the post description says—where on earth did my Sunday vanish? Although Robin's backstory in the game is heartbreaking, I hoped to showcase her beauty and cuteness through my cosplay.
From makeup and styling to post-processing, a lot of heartfelt effort was poured into every single step of this photo set. Whether for conventions or outdoor location shoots, the most important thing is thorough preparation—such as bringing extra safety pins, spare wig caps, touch-up makeup tools, and most importantly, sunscreen. I hope everyone enjoys these Convention photos, and I look forward to bringing you even better works next time!
