Slipping into this JK Cat girl outfit immediately put me in character. For this shoot, I explored a Cat personification theme, specifically picking an appropriate shirt and a sailor top accented with a large red bow beforehand, paired with a navy-blue pleated skirt from a classic JK uniform to keep the entire look crisp and clean. The Cat ears prop on my head was firmly secured, staying perfectly in place even with frequent nods and head turns. The cat tail behind me was fastened via the belt; though crouching poses required minor adjustments, it allowed great freedom of movement overall, accommodating numerous personified gestures effortlessly.
To highlight delicate textures, I coordinated over-the-knee White stockings with chunky-soled black leather loafers; this elongated leg lines in standing poses while clearly showcasing the details of the stockings in crouching stances. The shoot was located near Exit D of Xiaobei Subway Station, where clear, translucent sunlight and the geometric lines of railings and wire mesh provided great textural depth for the background. Direct sunlight streaming down cast crisp shadows on the ground, lending dimensional layers to the composition.
During the shoot, I experimented with varied poses to mimic a cat's everyday behavior. In the first standing shot, gently lifting the skirt hem while raising my right hand into a playful cat-paw gesture naturally guided the viewer's gaze toward facial expressions and leg contours. The second single-leg standing pose tested my balance, but striking that stance injected noticeable agility and liveliness into the shot. Subsequent crouching poses demanded careful placement of the tail to keep it from looking awkward in frame; leaning against railings as a support point made the crouch feel organic and softened my gaze.
The entire shoot spanned over two hours as the ambient sunlight gradually intensified. To maintain an overall cool-white tone, we subtly tweaked the reflector angle during backlit takes. The fabric of the JK uniform felt comfortable and breathable. Tidying up my short hair after wrapping up, I felt this styling wasn't just suitable for casual street wear, but possessed immense expressive impact in front of the lens. I personally adore this kind of Cat personification attempt—blending human nuances with subtle feline habits enriches emotional expression. With an effortless and relaxed atmosphere, it was a truly delightful creative experience.
