[Firefly cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail, the perfect capture of exquisite light and shadow under natural light

Today's set of Firefly photos really maxed out the charm of natural light. During the early styling preparation, considering Firefly's silver-white long hair with a cyan-green gradient, a lot of effort went into styling and caring for the wig. To maintain fluffiness and layering, hair wax was used to sculpt the texture, and the cyan highlights at the tips refract a special luster under the sunlight. The makeup mainly highlights the translucency of the eyes; blue colored contact lenses paired with a clear, translucent base makeup and cool-toned blush make the facial features look more three-dimensional under natural light. The clothing coordination is the classic black-white-green combination: a black high-waisted dress with a white lace hem, layered with a grey-green cape jacket featuring gold buttons, and a cyan-blue striped bow tie at the neckline. Black long over-the-elbow gloves and a leather crossbody bag add a bit of coolness, while the lower body is matched with white socks and black small leather shoes, presenting a very harmonious cool-toned texture under natural light.
We deliberately looked for a park with a large banyan tree as the shooting location. The intertwined thick trunks, hanging aerial roots, and dense surrounding bushes added a lot of natural vitality to the frame, while the bench as the main prop not only provided support for sitting postures but also blended well into the environment. The most amazing thing about natural light is its non-replicability; the sunlight around 3 or 4 PM filtering through the leaves formed mottled light and shadows on the grass and wooden chairs. We didn't use complex artificial light sources, relying instead on environmental diffuse reflection to fill in light on the face, preserving the skin's true texture as much as possible. When shooting against the light, the sunlight outlined a beautiful rim light around the edges of the wig, making the originally silver-white hair appear even more translucent. In terms of pose direction, I tried a few different sitting postures to match the changes in light and shadow. When sitting sideways, my hands were naturally crossed on the skirt hem, slightly lifting my chin to face the light, making the catchlights in my eyes particularly bright. Additionally, poses leaning against the bench, gently lifting the cape, or extending a hand forward better showcased the layers and textures of the clothing. The ruffles of the skirt, the fabric texture of the gloves, and the surface of the leather bag each had different reflective characteristics under the sunlight. The whole process was about constantly finding angles, observing where the light fell, and quickly pressing the shutter during those few minutes of optimal lighting. Without over-relying on post-processing filters, we preserved the unique contrast and warmth of natural light and shadow, giving this set of photos a very realistic sense of breath.
