[Feixiao cosplay] General in Star Rail, hunter tonight

Actually, this photo set was shot a while back, and I only decided to post it while sorting through my album recently. When I saw the repo back then, I thought the final photos were very faithful, and today I finally had time to pick out these few pictures to edit.

The core idea behind the entire photo set was to present a night patrol atmosphere, so the photographer specifically found a dark-toned scene with Chinese courtyard elements. Paired with that yellow blossom tree, the white rabbit ornament beside it, and the artificial moon light source above, the contrast between cool blue and warm yellow instantly brought out the character's aura.

As for this outfit, I must say the cutout designs on the chest and sides really tested my posture during the actual shoot. To prevent garment edges from looking awkward while maintaining a firm grip on the heavy broadsword weapon, I readjusted my center of gravity repeatedly. The pair of black leather gloves on my hands matched with the leather leg straps visually added a touch of tough, tactical feel. The reflection of the boots' metallic trim on the polished floor unexpectedly became a bonus, so I paid special attention to ground reflections during shooting.

Regarding props, this broadsword with a glowing blade serves as the visual centerpiece of the whole frame. In the actual shoot, the white flame illumination effect at the sword tip was a result of combining on-site lighting with post-processing adjustments; maintaining a stable light source angle on set was necessary to let the outfit's blue fabric and the blade's cyan-blue present harmonious layers in low light. The hair strands were also specially treated, using a wind machine to create a flowing movement in the cyan-blue highlights at the tips—partly to simulate a natural wind-blown state, and partly to give static photos more dynamic tension.

The combination of weapon and costume does have considerable weight, especially when posing in a slightly tilted posture leaning on the sword with one hand, which requires significant core strength; after several rounds of shooting, I could definitely feel muscle soreness. However, seeing the final shots in the camera made all the previous effort in adjusting footwork and side profile angles feel completely worth it.

This shoot didn't use overly fancy compositions; instead, an eye-level medium close-up angle was used to ensure the character's facial expression and body posture could be captured clearly, while retaining background lanterns and blurred foreground floral branches to add spatial depth and layers. In fact, while planning the shoot, I really hoped my gaze could convey a calm yet alert focus, as this state truly fits the baseline tone of the character's design.

Although these are older photos, going through and reviewing them again still brings back memories of repeatedly testing lighting, adjusting center of gravity, and tweaking facial expressions. I hope everyone can feel the artistic mood this photo set aims to convey. Whether it's costume texture or prop details, a lot of heartfelt effort went into pre-production prep and on-site communication. Given the chance in the future, I'll definitely try more dark night-scene shoots in similar styles; this kind of visual expression combining traditional elements with combat attributes, including Ancient style photography and Anime cosplay elements, has always been a style direction I personally favor.
