[Mordred cosplay] Knight of Rebellion in Fate/Grand Order

This red, gold, and black color scheme outfit was truly challenging to style. Let's talk about the wearing experience first: the red tube top is made of satin material, which reflects light and is very sensitive to illumination. To make the upper body look more upright, I spent a lot of time before the shoot adjusting the chest laces and hem straps to ensure nothing would slip down. The bow tie is red with gold trim. The lower half features a high-slit skirt paired underneath with Black stockings and matching high-heeled ankle boots. Because the skirt is short and reveals the midriff, walking around the convention floor required constantly engaging the core and minding my posture, both to prevent accidental exposure and maintain flattering leg lines, as imperfect postures easily risk wardrobe mishaps.

During the shoot, I posed with the longsword, a prop that is quite heavy. Especially when shouldering it or raising the sword while stepping onto the stool, my arms and core had to stay engaged and tense, making my wrists sore after just a short while. The venue this time was the AD03 Anime Expo; the on-site environment was rather cluttered with reflective umbrellas and lighting equipment around, creating harsh, direct light. To avoid background passersby, photographer @上学威龙 employed many techniques, such as using a black folding stool as an auxiliary prop for me to step on, reframing the composition to elongate the body lines. Some shots were seated, with one leg resting on the stool surface and the other draped naturally, which showcased the texture of the Black stockings and the thigh lines nicely, making the legs look very straight in the edited results.

I also experimented with various poses during shooting, such as raising both hands above the head, resting hands on the sword with one foot on the stool, and kneeling on the ground. For this red, gold, and black palette and to stay true to the original setting, the actions needed to be crisp and sharp. Wearing this outfit on the convention floor turned many heads; besides focusing on the camera, I had to constantly monitor the skirt hem, so adjustments were made to the posing design—these postures were meant not only to add visual tension to the photos but also to guard against accidental exposure. I tested several pairs of stockings and ultimately chose ones with better sheen to catch the venue lighting, giving the legs more visual texture.

The overall photo composition matched the outfit's color scheme well; large areas of red showed up brilliantly against dark backgrounds, creating a striking contrast with the cool-toned lights. When sorting through these pictures, I was particularly pleased with the seated poses on the stool and the kneeling stance resting on the sword, as they felt capable of fully presenting my body proportions and the design features of this costume. Looking over these photos after returning from the convention, the overall photoshoot atmosphere felt great; although tiring, the process went very smoothly. Going forward, I've gained more experience with outfits that require tucking the core and baring the waist, knowing how to make adjustments to maintain the silhouette without being overly strained. This set makes up the main Convention photos from this anime expo shoot.
