[Yixuan cosplay] Air-dropping into Zenless Zone Zero, the cold and glamorous texture of black patent leather and red pupils

"Why have you come this time?" This line actually fits the chilling and aloof atmosphere of this look very well. The character I cosplayed this time is Yixuan from Zenless Zone Zero, and the most eye-catching part of the costume is this black patent leather jacket. When I first received the outfit, my immediate impression was its crisp, structured silhouette. Patent leather presents a strong fluid sheen under studio lights, while the contrasting white stand-up collar design softens the heavy feeling of black. Combined with metallic buttons and waist buckles, the entire jacket carries ample weight and dimensional layering.

The lower body was paired with a white pleated miniskirt and Black stockings cosplay. Black stockings actually test leg lines and photo exposure quite heavily. To match the character's temperament, I chose high-density matte black stockings with zero sheen. The straight back seam line is a clever touch that visually flatters the leg shape. The high heels are black patent leather with red soles; the heel height is just right, elongating leg proportions while maintaining stability when adjusting positions around the studio, without straining the ankles too much.

Head accessories and wig styling were also a key focus. If white hair isn't handled well, it easily looks dull or jarring in the overall frame, so I deliberately trimmed the bangs to have layered texture. A small lock of hair on top was tied high with a hairband to add volume, which, combined with the slender black hairpin on the forehead, elevated the facial focal point. With red colored contact lenses, the gaze gained instant focus. Compared to everyday makeup, the eye makeup accentuated contours more, with winged eyeliner bringing out an uncompromising sharpness.

That black crow prop was the finishing touch. Its texture is somewhat like flocked velvet without reflecting light, forming a distinct contrast in black shades with the patent leather on my body. When posing, holding the bird prop with one hand or letting it perch by my hand gave my hand movements a natural anchor, avoiding awkward, stiff fingers. Poses like the single-leg balance shot in the picture really tested core strength to control the center of gravity, but for the best photographic results, repeatedly finding the balance point captured the most natural frame.

The location for this shoot was actually an industrial-style studio equipped with studio lights. The benefit of Convention photos is that while the lighting might not be as meticulously controlled as in a high-end studio, the wide-angle perspective and depth of field integrate the subject into the environment much better. Especially this cool-toned light hitting the patent leather jacket gave the black fabric a subtle grayish-blue sheen, making fabric creases and textures look exceptionally premium. During the shoot, constant communication with the photographer was essential—such as which direction to extend legs and how to control shoulder height—to ensure the lines of the black stockings and heels looked as smooth as possible in Anime-style photography.

The process of cosplaying this character was truly a deeply satisfying recreation. Every crease on the outfit, the angle of the props, and the indifference in the eyes needed to align step-by-step with the character's core before the lens. Often, a great convention shot isn't just about wearing the right outfit, but capturing that fleeting split second. Whether glancing back sideways or resting my chin on my hand while seated, everything looked natural yet commanding against the backdrop of this outfit. This Anime-style photography expression pours passion and reality into light and shadow, achieving a fully realized presentation.
