Preparing for this Nurse uniform Nanakusa Nazuna cosplay shoot from Call of the Night took quite a lot of upfront time. To align with her Vampire character and the Medical theme concept, we ultimately selected an authentic hospital setting for the photoshoot. For makeup and styling, to convey that chilling, slightly sickly aura of the character, I specially prepared blue contact lenses paired with an extremely pale foundation, combined with a wig styled into curly, voluminous twin braids. The costume was custom-tailored as well, with the black cross detail on the nurse cap boasting high fidelity. During shooting, on-site lighting control was paramount—heavy cool white lighting, vignetting, and a matte texture made the character look as if she had accidentally wandered into a freezing examination room. Throughout the shoot, to showcase the character's contrasting blend of fragility and danger, I experimented with various poses. For example, the curled-up pose in Photo 2 required adjusting leg proportions in frame along with a deliberately spaced-out, distant gaze; Photo 3 extended the leg lines while avoiding foreground clutter to emphasize a sense of isolation. We also tried interactive compositions with mirror reflections to enhance narrative depth. Due to the coldness and danger of a Vampire in the original lore, I deliberately held back warmth in my facial expressions, maintaining an unapproachable yet subtly delicate demeanor. Since cool tones in post-processing can easily slip into looking muddy or dreary, I bumped up the contrast in editing to preserve the pale skin texture, evoking the feeling that she hovers between life and death. The biggest challenge of this shoot was maintaining focus in a real medical environment, avoiding disturbing medical supplies, and adjusting camera angles within a cramped space. As a fan of the original work, I adore her unique trait of looking innocent on the outside while possessing a dangerous charm. Sitting on a white hospital bed in a Nurse uniform and gazing coldly at the world was a truly surreal experience. During makeup, I repeatedly adjusted the intensity of the eye makeup, as being too heavy would ruin the character's youthful look, while being too light wouldn't bring out her Vampire allure. This was not only a character recreation but also an experiment with light, shadow, and cool palettes; the finished photo texture exceeded expectations and captured the ambiance of Call of the Night perfectly.
