As the evening hustle and bustle of the city gradually fades, the line "I'm hungry, time to eat" kept echoing in my mind while shooting this Nanakusa Nazuna cosplay photoshoot. Compared to the sharpness of the daytime, midnight charm and casualness were the core of what I wanted to capture this time. Often, the daytime is too noisy, making people feel sluggish; only in the deep night does the world truly belong to oneself. Standing in a space with strong industrial lines like a parking lot, stripping away the excess glamour and leaving only the cold color tones and the character's特立独行 (unconventional) contrast, this process itself was very interesting.

After getting the original design sheets, I spent a lot of thought on picking the wig and doing the makeup. Although the light purple hair is very ethereal, it easily loses its texture under cold light. For this reason, I specially applied a smoothing treatment to the hair strands and meticulously braided the double twin-tails on both sides. In terms of makeup, to restore that vampire-like pale yet slightly eerie feeling, I chose a pinkish-white base makeup, paired with highly striking blue-purple eyeshadow and high-saturation bright red lips. This clash of colors, where cold glamour and passion intertwine, is a magical point that comes with the character.

The cut of this costume is also highly recognizable. The black semi-high-neck top features a clever cutout design on the chest, which isn't overly revealing yet retains that slightly rebellious sexiness from the original setting. The black leather belt at the waist not only outlines the waistline but also provides a visual center of gravity for the overall outfit. The black high-waisted shorts on the lower body, paired with over-the-knee black stockings, are a highly classic height-elongating match. Wearing those platform black leather boots, the heaviness of the Martin boots perfectly counterbalances the lightness of the upper body, mixing into a texture where locomotive style and casualness coexist. The outerwear is a black cloak with a white lining. In this scene, besides adding warmth, it adds layers and mystery to the look.

To restore this "sleepless all night" lazy vibe, I tried multiple postures. Crouching by the edge of a white pillar and pulling up the edges of the hood with both hands beautifully showcases a slice of the character's alertness and mystery in the night breeze. When sitting against the corner of a wall, I deliberately blanked out my gaze and supported myself on the ground with both hands, letting my body relax completely. The black stockings formed a sharp line contrast with the yellow guidance lines on the floor. This casual state is actually the true portrayal of the character wandering alone in the deep night as I understand it. Aside from the clothing, the details of the character are hidden in the expressions. I tried to convey that specific aura where sharpness and laziness coexist through a gaze looking straight into the lens.

Choosing a parking lot photoshoot as the location this time was very clever. The cold white tube lights at the top provided ample base light. Combined with the composition by photographer @ONE个我, it presented a high-cold texture where cyberpunk and daily life interlace throughout the entire environment. The blue-gray floor and yellow guiding arrows formed a subtle color echo with the character's cool-toned light purple braids and deep blue eyeshadow. In several looking-back moments captured by the photographer, the background light sources were blurred into light spots of varying sizes, resembling exactly the world in the eyes of a city night-returner.

As an enthusiast who frequently messes around with cosplay, the true difficulty of this character is not just putting on the right clothes, but melting that seemingly careless yet highly honest expression toward a certain craving into one's bones. Therefore, during the shoot, I didn't deliberately pose for perfect postures but tried my best to keep myself in a half-awake, idle state. Relaxing my waist and back, casually crossing my legs, and intentionally blanking out my gaze—this sense of relaxation caught the essence of the deep-night walker from the original work even better.

It was actually quite cold during the shoot. The parking lot was spacious and well-ventilated, and the cold wind occasionally blowing from the corner made the "all-night" feeling even more authentic. The moment I put on the cloak, I felt as if I were genuinely heading out to find prey belonging to the night. For the post-processing, we deliberately darkened the highlights to preserve that high-contrast environmental light. The black clothing merged as one with the environment, and the cool white of the skin and the landmark yellow became the visual guides. No excessive skin smoothing was done, retaining some real skin texture. At midnight, this feeling of being awake and roaming the streets is indeed highly unique. Perhaps this is also why I like this character and this set of photos—it displays not a standard refinement, but a serenity and self-contentment exclusive to the deep night.
