Slipping into this white-and-red Nurse uniform under the soft blue background lights instantly put me into the daily vibe of Perseus. The theme for this shoot was 'A Nurse's Duty Day,' serving as my full recreation of Perseus's iconic look from Azur Lane.
For the styling, the long pink hair was cut into distinct layers; the bangs and twin side-tails visual appear light and fluffy. Paired with the white sailor-style nurse cap on top, it is remarkably recognizable, adorned with a white cross clip and a golden anchor pattern. The black choker around the neck paired with a golden cross pendant is the soul of this outfit, while the pink ribbons cascading down the collar add a lively contrast to the slightly formal uniform. The design of the outfit itself is unique—the white inner lining features delicate lace edges, while the outer sleeves have wide sailor-cuff cuts with navy blue and red color-blocking, giving it the sharp, crisp look of ship rigging. The bottom consists of a pure white skirt and a wide red belt, which, combined with the White stockings featuring small red bows, makes the character fit clinical hygiene aesthetics while retaining that charming, cute anime appeal.
During the shoot, I tried various poses with props to showcase the multi-faceted nature of this Nurse uniform. Whether holding that oversized syringe-shaped pen or simply sitting quietly on a modern white office chair and making a playful pose with pink-gloved fingers near my cheek, everything flowed naturally in character. The small yellow plushies in the scene were wonderful partners; their round, cute shapes balanced out the cool blue and white tones in the frame, filling the entire space with a healing atmosphere. The computer screen in the background also intentionally displayed Perseus's official original artwork—this little Easter egg blending reality with virtual elements gave the photos a better sense of story continuity.
The hair and makeup were kept translucent, fresh, clean, and soft. The pink-toned eyeshadow and subtle lipstick matched the wig color closely, removing any sickly feel and aligning more with the neatness expected of healthcare staff. Although the style leans towards soft and cute, I deliberately emphasized leg lines across standing and sitting poses, giving the combination of White stockings and high heels a better visual extension on camera. The ambient lighting was controlled meticulously—high-key lighting kept the white tones of the outfit exceptionally clean and pure. This high-brightness lighting greatly reduced the burden of post-processing and effectively brought out the high quality that photography works deserve.
Preparing and organizing for such complex cosplay shoots often takes more time than the actual photo-taking. In particular, grooming the wig and adjusting the elastic bands and bows across the outfit required constant fine-tuning in front of the lens. However, seeing those natural interactive moments in the final photos brings genuine joy as the character. The healing and gentle aura carried by the Nurse uniform was beautifully showcased through this attire and the photographer's skillful capture.
This Nurse Duty Day record was an immensely fulfilling photoshoot experience. Throughout the process, I aimed to integrate Perseus's character traits into daily nursing scenarios through varied gestures and expressions. Although I felt a bit exhausted afterward, the unique aesthetic brought by this styling made the entire creative process truly worthwhile and memorable.
