Putting together this nurse styling for Nanakusa Nazuna took nearly two hours from waking up to setting the final makeup, mostly hung up on styling the wig. The pink wig was originally quite straight, requiring meticulous flat-ironing section by section over the bangs, while fashioning the sides into fluffy, voluminous buns. It took numerous adjustments to achieve an organic curvature, and locking it in place was slightly nerve-wracking out of fear that the hair's sheer weight might unravel with sudden head turns.

For makeup, capturing the character's aura led me to choose vivid blue contact lenses. The eye makeup was the most labor-intensive step: sweeping generous washes of pinkish-red around the outer corners and lower lash lines while deepening the aegyo sal shadows, complemented by pronounced blush and glossy lip tint to channel an enigmatic, subtly yandere allure. To ensure long-lasting wear, I laid down a solid base with two layers of pressed powder; in crowded conventions, sweat and humidity can easily break down makeup. The hat was a crisp white nurse cap anchored with a black cross at the center—my favorite accessory of the build, as popping it on instantly solidified the character's demeanor. The garment itself was a pure white stand-collar uniform; though slightly substantial in fabric weight, its tailored silhouette was impeccable, with collar button placements matching the canonical artwork as closely as possible.

The convention floor was genuinely muggy, and walking through the dense crowd in a long-sleeved uniform left my back completely soaked. I kept a mini handheld fan running continuously, not even putting it down between takes. To capture flattering Convention photos, I scouted overhead lighting from multiple angles, alternating between low-angle perspective and eye-level framing. Because of the wig's heft, I repeatedly touched the side buns to ensure they weren't tilting or losing shape.

Pulling off this styling brought unique challenges: Nanakusa Nazuna carries a distinctive, effortless nonchalance in the original story, demanding mastery over relaxed expressions and subtle glances. In the rest area, I practiced micro-expressions before my phone screen, balancing the intensity of the eye makeup to find that slightly aloof, detached demeanor. To complement the cross nurse cap, I wore long black press-on nails accented with gold linework; while visually striking, handling props turned clumsy—clutching the fan and phone had to be done gingerly with finger pads to prevent chipping. Fellow cosplayers roamed the venue, stopping occasionally for mutual snapshots and swapping convention stories. My biggest takeaway today is that wig prep and eye makeup account for eighty percent of faithful character translation. For anyone attempting this look, set the wig thoroughly ahead of time, especially the braided sections, which require copious hairspray and bobby pins. Also, stay on top of touch-ups, as summer heat requires regular restroom visits to manage shine and powder separation. Overall, wrapping this shoot smoothly was immensely rewarding. Despite physical exhaustion, seeing the finished frames made all the effort worthwhile. I'm sharing these initial two shots for now, and will sort through more convention photos as they are ready.
