[Cirno cosplay] The Ice Fairy by the Water: Showcasing Summer Coolness and Vitality

For this shoot, we chose a real outdoor waterside meadow location. The ambient lighting was exceptionally bright and clear, making it a perfect match for this blue-and-white outfit. Since Cirno is an ice-element character, pairing her look with the blue sky and green waters created a wonderfully translucent visual effect.

The wig is a soft light blue. Due to its large volume, the oversized white ribbon on top easily threw off my center of balance, requiring extra bobby pins to keep it firmly secured. The outfit's fabric was selected with great care: the outer layer features an abundance of semi-sheer tulle and delicate lace, lined with soft cotton inside so it doesn't irritate the skin. The translucent sleeves are ultra-lightweight, but they snag easily on roadside branches, requiring extra caution while walking. The blue crystal-textured wings on my back were custom-made; they have fantastic light transmission, though turning around in tighter spaces required being mindful not to bump into anyone. The red cherry accents on the skirt hem and the red bow tie on the chest served as the only vibrant crimson highlights on the entire costume, making them pop gorgeously against the blue and green backdrop.

For the lower body, I paired the outfit with white frilled over-the-knee socks and black leather shoes. The stretchy material ensured the socks stayed up without slipping down, beautifully flattering the leg lines when combined with the shoes. During the shoot, we took advantage of the slopes and grassy patches near the water. When sitting on rocks, because of the uneven surface, I had to constantly adjust my posture to let the skirt fan out naturally while maintaining elongated leg lines.

The photographer did an amazing job capturing the light as the sun filtered softly through the treetops onto my face and dress. When posing, I tried extending my legs forward to lengthen my proportions, which, paired with a resting-chin expression, captured a playful Anime girl charm without looking forced. The overall makeup leaned towards a porcelain doll aesthetic, blending subtle blue-violet tones on the eyes with ice-blue colored contacts to give my gaze a lively sparkle.

Since outdoor photography lighting changes quickly, we captured as many shots as possible while the golden light lasted. As we moved along the creek, my assistant helped lift the skirt hem to keep the fabric completely dry. The outfit is packed with rich details—ruffles, subtle floral textures, and layered lace—so in post-processing, we carefully preserved these textures to restore the airy, translucent blue-and-white palette. From styling the wig and preparing the costume to scouting the real-world location, a lot of thought went into this set. Being able to shoot in such a fitting environment and capturing this delicate, dreamy fairy atmosphere made every bit of effort worthwhile. Big thanks to the photographer for the meticulous framing—especially for capturing long leg silhouettes where the white tights caught the sunlight beautifully. As one of my all-time favorite sets, I'm thrilled with the final quality.
