[Misono Mika cosplay] Blue Archive: Sensei, I'm taking the Swiss roll!

Putting on this Misono Mika outfit and wig, I could finally snap a few casual lifestyle photos in an everyday setting like a shopping mall.

Honestly, styling this pink wig was much more work than I imagined. The bangs needed to be trimmed just right to cover my eyebrows, and the side buns had to be fluffed up to be full and round. Only when paired with light blue-violet hair accessories does it radiate that soft, fluffy yet slightly tsundere charm. Before heading out today, I made a point to comb the ends smooth and applied a bit of setting spray so it wouldn't look too frizzy in the wind.

Since it was in a public space, unlike a studio shoot with softboxes, the lighting in a mall can easily create facial shadows. So for the makeup, I deliberately emphasized a matte base, while focusing the eye makeup on lowering the lower eyelid line to make my eyes look rounder and larger. Combined with light pink blush, the overall look captures Mika's innocent, lively, yet slightly mischievous charm. As for lip makeup, I chose a low-saturation milk tea cinnamon shade so it doesn't look overly heavy while matching the hair color nicely. When taking phone photos of myself, the framing angle is crucial—holding the phone slightly higher creates a close-up angle that feels both character-accurate and natural.

Speaking of the character, I have to mention the plush doll in my hands. I searched specifically to hunt this down; its closed-mouth, squinting expression is delightfully quirky, perfectly capturing that in-game urge to tease her. Coupled with the white sailor-collar uniform I wore this time, the two gold lines accenting the collar are just right—neither too plain nor too distracting. In the pictures, I also specially showcased the ita bag I put together over the past couple of days, filled with round badges, acrylic stands, and a chubby plush pendant. Carrying it out shopping often draws glances from passersby because it's genuinely eye-catching, especially the standee featuring white feather elements that refracts beautiful light spots through the clear acrylic plate under the light.

When taking these photos, it was actually afternoon tea time, with plenty of people around enjoying coffee and cake. Sitting at the table holding a massive pink plushie definitely required a bit of courage, but thinking about how this reflects Misono Mika's unreserved playfully bossy and cute nature in front of Sensei, I felt much less self-conscious. Many think cosplay is just posing in front of a camera, but every photo shoot involves countless subtle considerations behind the scenes. Things like the garment's fabric, the firmness of the collar, the fluffiness of the skirt, and the length of the bag strap—every detail affects the tone conveyed in the final photo. Choosing not to use a specialized studio or top-tier lighting today, and instead capturing an everyday feel within the natural, comfortable mall setting, created a relaxed vibe that I personally love.

Holding the merchandise bag, it was actually quite heavy! Tilting the angle slightly to let the sailor collar drape naturally allowed the half-body shot to highlight the outfit's key features well. Looking back at the photos collected over these past few days, even without extensive editing, the overall soft filter feel turned out just right, blending the delicate pink hair and the pure white clothes together seamlessly. Doing cosplay has never been just about taking pretty pictures; it's more about conveying the unique charm of the character. To me, portraying Misono Mika means being meticulous in every detail—from the strands of hair to facial expressions, from outfit to props—everything must align perfectly.
