From the costume fitting to the final photoshoot, the styling for Jsspsi from Arknights: Endfield was packed with intricate details. What took the most effort were definitely the dragon horns and elf ears. To ensure the horns looked seamless yet remained stable, we experimented repeatedly with concealing the wig cap and fine-tuning the angles of the pins; the wig was also specially reinforced to bear the horns' weight, otherwise the slightest nod would throw them off-balance. For makeup, blue contact lenses were paired with a cool-toned eye look to emphasize an otherworldly aura and a subtle, aloof distance. The costume's fabric was extraordinary—the silver and pale blue reflective material naturally exuded a fantastical harmony of wasteland tech and traditional Chinese aesthetics. The black cutout base layer required a snug, tailored fit, as any sudden movement could shift it out of place, so I constantly readjusted it to keep its texture and sheen pristine on camera. The gradient sleeves and pearl bracelets significantly elevated the overall opulence. The real showstopper was that long dragon tail. It carried noticeable weight, and achieving a natural, graceful curve in the photos required continuous micro-adjustments using core strength while coordinating with the camera angle. Positioning the tail while seated on the wide wooden daybed—ensuring it felt harmonious while extending the spatial depth of the composition—was especially challenging. The large calligraphy brush in hand was another key highlight; holding it couldn't look stiff—the wrist and fingers needed controlled elegance to convey a sense of effortless mastery. Combined with a focused gaze, it truly channeled the artistic realm of a classical scroll.
The wooden folding screens and curio shelves at the location created a rich classical ambiance, where even airborne dust motes became clearly visible under the strong lighting. When the backlighting illuminated the silver outfit and tail, the rim light was breathtaking—lighting up every fine strand of hair along the silhouette and instantly anchoring the character's commanding presence. When trying different poses, I focused on how to best accentuate the leg lines and White stockings. The black-and-gold boots paired with the white thigh-high stockings created a bold visual contrast; extending the legs whether sitting or standing beautifully balanced my overall proportions. To complement the glossy sheen of the fabric, I consciously searched for angles that caught the best refractive highlights. For close-ups, I lowered my gaze slightly or looked up just a touch, crafting an expression that fit the character's persona—regal, aloof, and faintly discerning. Throughout the shoot, I gained a much deeper appreciation for Jsspsi's temperament: beyond her ornate beauty, she embodies a serene, mysterious stillness unique to Endfield. Wearing this attire, even just sitting quietly on the wooden couch, gave a palpable sense of the character's profound depth.
