For this on-location shoot, we chose the back entrance of a Lawson convenience store, aiming primarily to capture that authentic, late-night urban everyday realism. To fit Ms. Tayama's persona, I took a minimalist approach to the styling. The red wig with blunt bangs was trimmed just below the brow line, gathered into a casual low side pony on the right so that looking down to smoke or glancing over my shoulder produced organic, dimensional movement in the strands. The makeup dialed down cheek blush to focus squarely on the eyes, deepening the outer corners with dark crimson eyeshadow and finishing with a black leather choker to amplify that icy, nonchalant edge. The outfit followed a classic formula: a structured black leather biker jacket worn over a fitted white cropped baby tee, paired with cuffed denim shorts and sheer black pantyhose. I deliberately chose a stiffer cut for the leather jacket, wearing it slouched off one shoulder during the shoot to reveal my collarbones and shoulder lines. The form-fitting white tee bared the midriff, which, combined with the denim cutoffs and sheer black hose, dramatically elongated the leg proportions visually. For hand props, I brought unlit cigarettes, a red energy drink can, and a blue round charm keychain. The ambient lighting was fairly chaotic, dominated by the sterile cool-white glow of the convenience store sign mixed with warm amber neon spill from the distant street. To isolate the subject, the photographer shot wide open throughout, melting passing pedestrians and interior shelving into soft background bokeh. We leaned heavily into wide-angle and fisheye lenses to ramp up visual tension—especially in tight close-ups near the glass, where fisheye barrel distortion gave the compositions an unmistakable punch. We avoided rigid posing, favoring candid captures of holding a cigarette, thumbing a lighter, or leaning casually against the black utility counter. Gestures like showing the charm keychain toward the lens or putting a hand out to shield the camera emerged naturally through playful on-set banter with the photographer. The entire shoot took roughly two hours; the black counter behind the store served as the perfect functional anchor, holding the cigarette pack and energy drink to ground the frame in gritty slice-of-life realism. Street-style cosplay thrives in nocturnal city settings—the key lies in staying relaxed without being intimidated by the surrounding bustle, while making full use of the convenience store's practical illumination and nocturnal alleyway depth.
